I'm calling ExTha out because it was a really pathetic thing (the drinking, the threatening, and not being able to go a second without trying to find a jab to take even when there's nothing there), but generally I just...don't even notice. I mean, go back and look at past topics - every time I disappear for a while people assume they scared me off or that I couldn't take the heat and nope, it's just, y'know, real life being a thing and calling me once in a while. You're giving me far too much importance for your own good. It's not healthy for you guys to spend time getting into arguments with me because it either depresses you or makes you mad. I could see Samus pulling second in the final too because Draven matches are just weird. I might change on those. Once that match happened, it was clear that either Draven would win - likely at a canter - or whoever beat him would win. If Link had beaten Draven he would have been even more of an unstoppable force, with momentum out the wazoo. Fewer antivotes, too, since he'd be seen as more of a conquering hero. If Draven wins tonight, he probably coasts through against Snake and Samus. If Mewtwo wins, I find it hard to see Mewtwo giving up the title either, though you never know. The likelihood is we see Mewtwo/Charizard/Pikachu (or Squirtle) in the second-place match, unless MM pulls this off. That would actually be a pretty interesting fight, because with the fanbase as it is I can't see there being a severe case of SFF one way or the other...everyone has a favourite Pokemon and it's usually pretty diverse. Pikachu attracts casual votes, I suppose, but I guess we'll see how Pokemon SFF plays out in Squirtle/Snake/Pikachu and potentially Samus/Red/Zard. The
Draven rallies definitely won't be as strong. The mods are actively
removing the posts, likely due to all the trouble caused last match and
the simultaneous invasions between the subreddit and B8. Before the Link
match, the rally thread was in the top 5 of the subreddit by this
point. The question is: How much of a dropoff can Draven withstand and still win? I have little doubt that neither Mewtwo nor Sephiroth will bring in the votals that Link did, and I also believe that they will collectively draw less votes from the LoL subreddit rallying than Link and Shep did. I also have little doubt that the awareness on the subreddit is going to be notably smaller since there won't be a topic that actively sticks out to passerbys just checking the site before going to work/school. *Edit: Also meant to mention that I would put Mewtwo/Sephiroth's collective chance at beating Draven as high as 33%. I really don't think the rally will get the momentum that the last 3 rounds have had. I also think it's entirely plausible -- likely even -- that if Mewtwo/Sephiroth win, they'll lose to Snake in the finals. --- SBAllen: the hero GameFAQs needs, but not the one it deserves. |

the problem is simply that Mewtwo isn't anywhere near as strong as
Link. KH said it earlier: Mewtwo might well need a decent rally just to
beat Sephiroth. Draven will be rallied, because there are plenty
of sources for LoL fans to go and drum up support from, and it'll be
significant too. This is going to take more than a few posts on r/Pokemon. It'll need retweets and facebook posts, among other things, for Mewtwo to get over the hump here. Have Draven face Link in this round instead of last and we're likely looking at an easy win for the Hylian Hammer. Oh, no, I mean the actual battle for second place in the remaining 4 matches! Draven, Snake, Samus, Draven just seem like such safe picks that seeing the fight for second in all those matches is probably going to be more interesting. Ah, I see. I also think it's entirely plausible -- likely even -- that if Mewtwo/Sephiroth win, they'll lose to Snake in the finals. After all that's happened, I cannot dare to dream of a Solid Snake victory. If anything, even with Link out of the way, it just seems further away than ever. It's just too awesome for GameFAQs to ever even consider doing - voting Snake over Sephiroth was one thing.
