The matches have basically come down to which character 4chan and reddit likes the most, or thinks is the funniest to vote through. Sonic's match had loads of Link/Draven spillover. Sephiroth's match had a ton of rallying too, just not enough to win. --- 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011 10 championships is not enough. ZeldaFAQs thirsts for more. |

might have made a match of it, but the rallying just ensures that

Used
to like Pokemon but seeing the same 5 or 6 Pokemon characters
obliterating everything in their path, yucks. Gonna anti vote them from

Snake is a fraud. I mean, only because people on this board have a huge hard on for the guy and overrate the hell out of him, but people said Charizard was a fraud and Charizard still looked really good! Though yeah, lot of hype about him beating Mario, KH was trying to hype him taking LINK, and he comes out and gets 64% on Kefka even though in 2010 he was projected to get 68%. Using 2010 Kefka makes no sense when 2010 Kefka is clearly weaker than 2013 Kefka by a significant margin. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Well, time to do some role reversal here, because I'm actually going to defend this a little. I think a lot of this is on Sora just being awful now. Kingdom Hearts, Bowser, and Mortal Kombat all have a series of matches where they have looked okay against each other but when you consider how they did against outside competition it suggests they all suck relative to their peaks - Bowser having sucked since 2007, Kingdom Hearts since 2010, and Mortal Kombat since this contest. I thought this up during Sora/Gilgamesh and the results since have only made it look better. It's why I picked Pikachu here, although Squirtle's match being immediately prior helped. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |

is pretty bad to be dropping this, yes. I think people are still
dumbstruck by seeing that five of the Final Nine are gonna be from one

Uh, why? Kefka looked great in 2010. You can't use Zack because FF7 has clearly weakened a lot. Kefka beat Ryu Hayabusa by LESS than what he was predicted to in 2010 (granted, Ryu H. was likely a bit underrated that year but it can't have been that bad). He beat Altair by about the same as he was projected to as well. Kefka most likely has just stayed consistent. That's Kefka's ultimate prank on us - his performances were perfectly in line with what we should have expected. Also I don't think Snake has significantly weakened, but people were bandying about the idea of him being stronger than ever. He clearly isn't. If anything he has weakened a touch from 2010. And you know what, there was never any reason to assume that Snake would improve. I think the only Noble Nine member to show a definite improvement is surprisingly Mega Man. That said, if it makes you happy, assuming this result sticks Snake is now the favourite to win. Enjoy that. Edit: Nothing sore loser about it, nor was that argument embarassing. I was wrong, I admit it, I based my argument on reasonable grounds and was proven wrong. I'm
having a difficult time getting a read on the next match. Putting 52%
on Auron means that L-Block should beat Tifa (Assuming Auron = Tifa),
but I don't know if having two strong characters in the match is going
to make L-Block more or less likely to get rallied hard. And exactly
how much of that 52% against Auron is joke strength, and how well is

Altair was hugely underrated by the Link vs Sonic match. Assuming a constant Altar, it would put Kefka above that of Vivi.
