Not
really selling it short. Pokemon in a 1v1 contest loses many of these
'upsets' it's pulled off, because it doesn't get advantageous bracket
placement or a split vote to rally through. Not to say Pokemon are weak,
but they're not godslayers either. Squirtle doesn't come close in a 1v1
yesterday. Zelda cruises past Charizard. Sonic beats Mewtwo. It's a

Sora
was great in KHII at the very least. He evolved as a character and I
enjoyed his optimism. He was also an absolute blast of a character to
play/control in that game. His abilities were insane and just looked so

My feelings about this battle are mixed. On the one hand, seeing
Pikachu destroy Blue like this makes me feel more confident about
Charizard's chances of holding up with Red potentially in the poll. On
the other hand, if Sora had won this, I'd no longer need Snake in the
finals to win the Guru, thereby allowing me to rally for Squirtle and
potentially avoid even having to risk Snake winning it all! --- RIP GrapefruitKing and Emporer_Kazbar. You will be missed. |

Yep, Pokemon has succeeded not through strength but rather it's ability to avoid splitting votes in these 3 way matches. |

Pokemon
just aren't transitive. You can't look me in the eye and tell me that
the same Squirtle that let Ramze Beoulve get 32% on him is the same
Squirtle in R2 and R3. It simply doesn't add up. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Well,
yeah, Zelda will always crush Pokemon. Zelda would have destroyed
Charizard 1v1, rallies be damned. It's a bit different once you go from

Pokemon
grows, much like a joke would. the Squirtle we saw yesterday was just
too much alike to the Charizard we saw 3 years ago. the Pikachu here is
possibly above that. if Charizard could get 47% on Mario and if we assume that Cloud is similar in strength to Mario, everything makes sense. Pokemon just get stronger as the rounds pass. evolution! --- "Maybe it's a tentacle, molesting the planet itself. - Aschen Brodel. |
I
honestly wonder how a 1 v 1 Dante/Squirtle match would go. One randomly
run in the middle of the year, with no bandwagons in effect at all. I
really wouldn't be surprised if Dante won it - every single Pokemon
result in this contest seems fraudulent. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

It'd never get number one due to the SFF heirarchy we've seen (Zelda>Pokemon>The Rest) but man. What power. -Riku did terrible against Charizard, who got exposed as a fraud. -Sora did terrible against Gilgamesh. -We thought Sora did maybe okay against Scorpion, except Sub-Zero has looked terrible. He almost lost to The Boss in a day match and let Garrus get 45% on him while Wrex sucked and even Shepard beating Aeris by a little doesn't look good considering what else we've seen out of FFVII. -Bowser has looked meh-to-terrible in almost every match he's had against halfway-credible competition since 2007...except against Sora. Not a coincidence. Kingdom Hearts, Bowser, and Mortal Kombat all have a series of matches where they looked okay against each other but when you consider how they did against outside competition it suggests they all suck. Oh, and Auron is probably a little weaker. Maybe not by a lot but the Ocelot match didn't exactly look good for him in the first place, and with Sora and Riku being awful that probably means Roxas has weakened a fair amount too. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |

Sora's actively fighting the rat to keep it within 200. and at this point i don't even know who has what. Cloud's supposed to pick up at 4AM+ the way Seph did, instead he just started losing by more. then Cloud was supposed to gradually make his way through the day doing better, but he got locked down hard. then he was supposed to do great at night, but instead Squirtle just tripled his lead. it's a different game here and Sora ain't Cloud. --- "Maybe it's a tentacle, molesting the planet itself. - Aschen Brodel. |

the Power Hour. Sora has a terrible, awful, no good night vote. Cutting
