didn't bother responding to the rest of your post because it can be
summed up as "No, I'm not" when your attitude (and the attitude of
Pokemon fans throughout the entire contest) completely goes against it.
You certainly act like Pokemon is the underdog in almost every match it's in, yes. And I don't paint you as morons, I paint you as people who completely fail to realize that their chosen champions have become the John Cenas of these contests. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
I don't even like Zelda. I'm certainly not rallying her over Charizard! Asking people to 'rally better' against Pokemon is basically like Allen telling us to 'go find your own army', anyway. Virtually every rallyable place on the internet would side would have looked at my link and voted for Charizard. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
It's
gone beyond normal dislike, is my point. It's become kind of cartoonish
and sad and if KP wants to put me in one absurd category, I'll simply
put you all in one I like to call "would literally eat their own scrotum
to see Pokemon lose". At least mine is based in some sort of vague

If
by 'dislike', you mean 'ennui', then yes. Watching Pokemon get rallied
constantly while taking advantage of an absurd amount of LFF advantages
while the fanbase acted like they did got pretty old pretty fast. P.S. I love Pokemon in general. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

It's
possible for certain characters in a strong series to be the underdogs.
Blue wasn't against fox and wolf. Pikachu and crono/magus could be
argued but he's evidently stronger than I remembered. Magikarp against
mega man was. But you can do a similar breakdown for characters in the
Zelda or Mario series too. Sometimes the character is favored and
sometimes they aren't. Different characters and all that. Now if mega man can beat charizard he stands a chance at being the Pokemon killer. Since
we are back on Pokemon what was up with Mewtwo ? It was pretty
consistent and didn't look like a rallying and I'm not sure about Bowser
SFFing Sonic a lot more than Mewtwo. |

The raw votals that BR is postulating are still off because Squirtle wasn't getting as many rallied votes overnight due to 4chan not being as active, but thousands of votes by the end is probably a good, even conservative estimate. Like the topic where I argued Mizno was an underdog because he was against an FF character and FF Always Wins, and I don't differentiate Tidus and Squall and whoever else because they're all just as crap and it starts to blend together after a while worked pretty amazingly well, mostly because while I would never actually think that, it's not lightyears away from what I actually believe (they're both bad, most FF characters are bad - with a couple of exceptions - but I could still tier them and differentiate between them if I cared to do so). It always runs into a bigger menace at the end. You've made that comparison before and it's just as wrong now as it was then. Secondly - find specific places, specific people. If Pokemon always wins in close matches, affect the close matches. Like I said, 15 is close enough to be affected by one person. Or 10 people, like in Trainers/CloudandSeph. Or 23 people, like Mizno/Tidus. These are close enough for you to find specific people to get votes. I'm not talking about an army. I'm not even talking about a platoon. And if you don't like Zelda don't complain about the match. You didn't dislike Pokemon's dominance enough to rally against it, this much is abundantly clear. Why not? Are you taking some moral stand against rallying? Give me a break. I don't follow what XIII and KP are arguing over but Pre contest-Missingno was clear favorite over Tidus,was debateable against Squall After Tidus match,Squall was the favorite...after L-Block beat Tidus,it became debateable again Missingno was never the favorite against Squall nor underdog Jigglypuff was not underdog,it was obvious she would lose N was "underdog" but seriously most people predicted him to lose and he did Charizard was and should have been the clear favorite against Zelda..no idea what happened there Mewtwo WAS the underdog against Sonic...even though KH made valid points as to why he was supposed to win Mewtwo against Vincent was debateable,he wasn't an underdog Squirtle is a total underdog here TLDR Most Pokemon matches aside from this and Mewtwo>Sonic were predicted correctly |
At least I'm self-aware! This remains to be seen. I don't really care about who won Zelda/Zard, I'm simply saying that if you thought that match was really 'exciting' or 'anyone's game' or 'Zelda fans can rally too' then you are completely and utterly deluding yourself in every way possible. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

series doesn't seem to sff Pokemon well. Didn't in 2010 with charizard,
didn't seem to this year either. Mario and Sonic series is a different

In terms of character quality,I don't think a 512 character bracket can be bad The problem is with variety,as a game with better story will have better characters (if we go by the "nominate good characters" instead of "nominate from every game possible" path) The Ace Attorney series got so many characters that by video game standards,they are top tier Dahlia,Matt,Von Karma,Dick Gumshoe,Damon Gant..etc The problem is that even though they are great characters,they will be so weak they are going to be food for stronger characters anyway There really isn't any reason to have a character battle with more than 128 characters |

No, cloud's chance was passed by when he didn't take a good lead over the night. See red/blue vs cloud/seph in the rivals. It's a bandwagon effect the longer the fight stays close the more that jump on board and pokemon has more communities to hop on that wagon than FFVII ...or final fantasy in general does.
