Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. pretty sad that the winner of the Character Battle won't even be a
character that's actually loved, or that is you know, recognizable. L-Block might be a joke, you might not be able to "love" L-Block, but it's recognizable as hell. Heh, deleted my post instead of editing, and the topic closed anyway. I think in the absence of an honest Link win, getting it to the point that the downtime was absolutely a factor is at least a sort of pyrrhic victory. Not even the largest VG fanbase in the world on the largest message board in the world stopped Link; it took one of them spitefully DDOSing the entire site for them to get their guy over the line. --- XIII_rocks, the cream of XIII fanboyism. |

I feel the need to repost this: By the way I hope everyone in the stats topic, at least the regulars, appreciates what a true monster Link is on this website. This likens back to the days of Hulk Hogan, when good guys were the good guys and the bad guys wore masks and spoke in foreign accents instead of American ones. I don't like Link all that much but when faced with a rally the likes dwarfs the very population of this site Link just refuses to go down like a dog. It takes someone of amazing strength, bull**** or otherwise, to get the job done and even when they get the job done Link doesn't look like a complete dog. Link is going to lose this, and firmly, but he isn't going to look like the whipping boy so many imagined. --- And I would do anything for bets, but I won't do that! No I won't do that!
