The
Trent rally would've been more effective if it started earlier. Twitter
isn't like Reddit where people sit around on it all day and will be
likely to see the post immediately. People just sorta check in every
little while. So while it COULD cause potentially big numbers, they'd be

The
only better result than Draven winning by <1000 votes would be Link
scraping a victory at the last minute and having it taken away due to
vote stuffing violations. It's what this community deserves considering
the sheer amount of vitriol that's been spilled these last 21.5 hours
towards SBAllen or anyone refusing to buy into the Board8 hivemind.
Allen went out of his way to try to make this contest a giant shoutout
to B8, and even with today's events was way more open then anyone should
expect out of the head administrator of a business. I'm even reading posts that a result like this is the beginning of the end for GameFAQs... I mean, come on, those are some pretty heavy delusions of grandeur. Newsflash: if contests ended and B8 was permanently closed effective tomorrow, that would barely be a blip on the radar for GameFAQs. Just look at B8 activity relative to any of the top 100 most active game message boards, or the pro wrestling board, the two TV boards, the sports boards.. and those are just boards I have as favorites. B8 is a small fish in a large pond. For the record, I unfortunately do think Link is going to be successful in his comeback attempt.. I anxiously await the off-the-charts level of smugness I can already anticipate from some users. /rant --- SBAllen: the hero GameFAQs needs, but not the one it deserves. |
Looks like it might be giving Link an extra 10 votes per update or so. Not major but anything helps --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |
Better
for Link, but he needs to see those numbers more consistently. It is
highly unlikely he'll be able to skate through the rest of this match

sucks that Link needs a rally just to go toe-to-toe with Draven, and
then he's going to lose anyway once it gets close and Draven pulls yet
another trick out of his sleeve. I really want Link to win, but it

Second, the contests do matter since they pull in a lot of traffic for the site.
