Link has finally passed 200 votes in one update. The normal increase in the number of incoming votes from people waking up in the morning is pretty much all going to Link here while Draven maintains a very stable vote intake.

1) That, and anti-Link voting from here, which is pretty significant considering that this site still makes up most of the voting bloc for the contest.

2) The contest in general got way higher votals, and GameFAQs was tired of Link winning all the time. It was basically a huge inside joke that gathered steam and really took off in the last couple rounds, but it was largely GameFAQs users.

Looking at the change of percent over the last 1 hour among the 14 major countries.

Over the past 1 hour, Mexico, Sweden, Philippines and New Zealand all decreased of Link, but in Mexico's case they also decreased with Draven essentially giving Shepard everything.

Italy is the only country that went up for both Link and Draven.

Canada and Brazil were the biggest gains for Link with United States in third.

L-block's rally was primarily b8 based until L-block kept it close with Snake, then Kotaku stepped in and it went crazy the final two rounds.

So when does Draven push back? When the lead drops under 1000?

I mean, the block's base strength in 2013 is probably somewhere around Auron (might be slightly below, since it got some help last round.) add the joke being fresh and unprecedented since this was 2007, the site's fatigue with Link, and the growing bandwagon around the idea that a tetris block could actually win...

There are plenty of anti-Link votes for Draven from all sources.
As for L-Block, there were no major rallies. He was as obvious a joke character as you could get from a game that everybody has played. He struggled through the first rounds, but when it became clear that he actually had a shot at winning the whole thing, people started voting for him because it would be funny. With the serious votes split between Link, Cloud and Snake, L-Block managed to snatch away the victory.

1. I'd say the vast majority of them. The LoL subreddit is huge. Like, huuuuge.
2. Pretty much the entire Internet. I'd say 4chan was the biggest player, but iirc Kotaku posted a Link to the match as well.

And win or lose, we should recognize that Power Hour and early AM (until 7-8 AM EST) were pretty amazing for Link. Only behind 900 after the biggest vote hour in the battle, and held the bleeding to 60-ish votes per update overnight. Our projections right now are based on Link's best hours, so I don't think the full predicted vote swing is actually gonna happen...thus if Link had fallen behind by 10,000 votes I doubt a comeback would be even possible.

But 6,000 votes? Completely doable. Even if Link slows down a little come evening-time.
