Okay, this is shaping up better. Failing to double Wario in a Nintendo SFF match straight up isn't good, but Red's well on pace to make it something like 70%+ now that he's falling apart.

In one fell swoop, Vivi shot my division 8 picks all to hell. I have Squall and Red winning their respective matches, but I had Mario taking the division. With Vivi in the next round, that means that we're going to probably see Red to round 4, then Samus take the entire block.

Although, knowing how this match has gone so far, had my Mario pick panned out, he and Samus probably would have LFFed each other hard enough for Charizard to pull ahead for the finals, screwing my bracket that way instead.

I suppose I shouldn't really complain. The moment SBAllen let Draven beast all over this contest, my bracket was pretty much screwed.

With the rally dead,Red is shooting up and Wrex building a decent lead on Wario
This match is set in stone now

The weirdest thing about this contest to me is seeing L-Block become a contender to win again.

Yes, weirder than a guy getting rallied to scoring 66% against X and Ryu, werider than watching Vincent lose to Phoenix Wright, weirder than watching Mario lose to Vivi, weirder even than watching Guybrush beat someone.

This is the craziest f***ing contest and now I'm actively looking forward to each match just to see what crazy s*** happens next.

...So Knuckles bombed worse than most of us figured was possible in both round 1 and round 2, and a character we thought was decent based on Knuckles > Cecil is pretty much bombing here. Forget Red; based on this, Wrex would be in for the fight of his life against unrallied Wario 1-on-1. It's looking hard to deny Knuckles just sucks now.

I'm not sure I'd say Magus wins a Knuckles rematch, but the percentage ending up basically the same way it did the first time is looking far more likely than it should.

Red is certainly not a fraud.

There isn't much difference between him and Link character wise. Both mute both hugely popular characters in massive series. Red just has far fewer games so isn't on an elite level like Link but I would suspect Red to be pretty damn strong. The problem he has is that he'll get SFF'd by Charizard fairly easily.

Not that it matters with Kefka the favorite to win now!

Missing no losing has probably been the best result of this contest so far. These joke characters got old.

Seriously Draven winning would be better than one of these jokes winning. At least when Draven wins he won by sheer power and brute voting strength. missingno and failblock get minor rallies from joke sites like 4chan. When block won in 07 it was mostly gamefaqs having a laugh. Now it's just irritating. Great to see real characters like Squall put these pathetic vermins down though. Shame he's not in lbocks division. He would break that half a T block in 2 as well.

Yeah, definitely a missed chance.

Squall could've embarrassed Mario almost as bad as he did Luigi back in 2K3. And we would've come full circle.

Instead he might have to suffer the ignominy of losing to a human Pokemon character.

Oh wow, and L-Block has a very winnable match next round. Considering Red and Charizard have to be considered big favorites to make the Final 9 now, that gives ol' blocky an incredible, completely unexpected shot to make the finals. I've been slow to follow this stuff the past week, but it's pretty crazy that almost the entirety of the Noble 9 seems to be stepping aside for these newer guys.
