Yeah, judging from that reddit thread and the constant threads going up on /v/ to a lesser extent it's pretty conclusive Auron would have won without outside interference. No such thing as a rallyless GameFAQs Contest, though, so you should keep that in mind for the future!

Edit: And yeah, if it's replicated again Samus is gonna be in for the fight of her life and possibly lose even easier than this. She doesn't even have the capability of crushing Tifa like Auron is Ezio, so FF7 might end up dragging her down too much to recover. The irony.

Samus will be beating L-Block by more though. It's not like L-Block's gonna get the same percentage no matter what. Wasn't that theory disproven years ago?

Knew something was up when I saw how far ahead L Block had gotten. So lame, but oh well. The final is probably going to have nothing worth caring about or voting for at this rate anyways.

Aaaaand there's your culprit.

I have no idea how to tell if a reddit page is popular or not.

There's only 4 comments there - surely it can't be significant?

It also says on the side 394 points and 84% like it...though I can't tell if that's for this thread or the general reddit area it's posted in or what.

Can anyone familiar with reddit say whether this might have been impactful or not? Because we're talking a couple thousand more votes than what you're average day match has been getting here. A page with only 4 replies can't account for that, I would think...?

The LoL thread for Draven had something like 600 votes tops. So...yyyyyeah, take that as you will.

Yeah 394 votes only gets a couple thousand votes and 600 votes gets 50k votes. No stuffing though. Nope no stuffing. Lol

Yeah, that's a bad sign for Draven being a pure rally...how many comments did the Draven thread get though?

And did it have anything like an image click through tracker like n00b posted earlier?

L-Block doesn't get the same percentage from round to round, but even in years like 2008 it has been resistant to losing percentage when going up against stronger competition. L-Block and Ryu both had around 31.5% of the vote in R1 2008. But when Meta Knight and The Dog were replaced with Crono and Amaterasu, L-Block only fell to a touch below 28% while Ryu collapsed all the way to less than 24%.

Samus may not be capable of destroying Tifa to the tune to ensure victory against L-Block, especially considering that it's going to be getting almost the exact same percentage of any rallied votes again due to voter priming.

That FF split is going to be exceptionally nasty with FF7 flopping every match in round 2 except for Barret. If the 4chan reddit decides to back Dragonbron here like L-Block, we might be in for a shocker.

It's a fine picture of Yuna.

Won't really matter though. What matters is how hard Tifa SFFs her because Yuna beats Dragonborn straight up otherwise and probably pretty easily.

Dragonborn would still get fodderized normally, because it is fodder. Beating even a weakened Tifa in a night match would require almost all of its votes to be rallied and/or stuffed. I'm not willing to give that a realistic chance.

I'd say all three characters look below average - those aren't classic looks for Yuna or Tifa, and Dragonborn just looks bad all the time it seems. Though I don't expect the pics to have an impact on this match.

It being in caps is kind of unfair... :\

The quote definitely stands out compared to other quotes because of the caps. I don't think most quotes draw any attention to them, but that one definitely does.

But as others have said, this is all about how much Tifa SFFs Yuna. All other factors are secondary.

In all fairness, there's no way this isn't Nook's strongest year. Villager was confirmed for Smash, and New Leaf is the most talked-about 3DS game that's been released so far. And probably by a decent margin, too. His franchise has been on top of the world lately.

EDIT: Also, he stood out like crazy against Dragonborn and Pyramid Head in the match pic. That was bound to help.
