Easy match to call now but it wasn't so easy at the start of the contest. The current -16s (116 points) get wiped out. SuorGenoveffa is now 4 points ahead of everyone else. The prediction percentage in the top tiers is about 40% and this drops off into the 10s at the mid tiers.

16 people fell off the Top 49. JaySolano, JordockX, mrdean55, Pondos, th3l3fty, Ambertwo, Board8_BOP, Cipher_Miror_B, DGKMO, Doooooooooougie, Gooper_Blooper, iGenesis, Kumatora, LinkMarioSamus, Link_Fanboy and Luis_Sera89 did not have Blue winning.

The AC characters may have inherent strength of their own, but part of their contest strength is definitely tied up in their appearance. I'm not saying that Auron is going to go out and 80/20 Ezio, but sapping away a few hundred votes due to appealing to a similar demographic seems plausible to me.

It's possible that whatever Sonic boost has been exclusive to Sonic. He's been the only character who matters in the recent Sonic games. Knuckles is barely in Generations and he's not in Colors at all.

Knux has basically been an irrelevant Sonic character since Sega introduced Shadow to take his place as Sonic's rival.

One more reason to hate Shadow.

Well obviously there are mitigating circumstances but the point is Knuckles has looked really bad for awhile now. 52% on Cecil in a day match, looking like Celes would have given him a scare without Seifer, and now a severe underperformance here. Unless Samus does something like beat Mario and Charizard I'm not gonna have faith in the guy going forward.

Yeah, no surprise there. 'Sega' isn't really a thing on GameFAQs, and Sonic has serious ties to Nintendo platforms above all others, so it makes sense that he'd share the same fanbase as other Nintendo characters.

Ok, so I'm running some numbers for the next match...

According to 2010 xstats, L-block goes 55/45 on Tails. Also according to 2010 xstats, Ezio loses to Tails 45/55.

However, in this year's match, Ezio beat Tails 60/40.

Which means one of three things: Ezio or Tails has screwed up 2010 stats, Ezio or Tails had a massive popularity swing in the last three years, or Bomberman was a giant anchor around Tails' neck in their match.

Which of these seems the most likely?
