the past couple of weeks I feel like JR when he was talking about Stone
Cold during the invasion angle when I think about Wylvane. "It's the old Wylvane! He's walking, he's talking, and he's about to kick some ass!" This is the best Wylvane has been in ages. I was going to comment on it yesterday but instead took some sleeping pills and drowned my sorrows. --- And I would do anything for bets, but I won't do that! No I won't do that! I would do a Pokemon rally with Wylvane topic or without I mean really,if you are a Pokemon fan and doesn't believe a Pokemon rally can work after what Draven pulled,there must be something wrong with you |

They got 50k people in 12 hours and made it look easy. Where can you find 50k people (even more, since it's a 24h match) to vote for pokemon/Link/whatever? IMO the best bet would be to rally in multiple places at the same time. But that would require a coordinated effort. Can board 8 pull it off? |

On something discussed earlier, a 64-game bracket sounds pretty constricting:. Like, uh: 6 Mario games: Mario 1, Mario 3, Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario 2 Mario Kart games: Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 7 Zelda games: Zelda 1, LttP, OoT, MM, WW TP, SS 4 Pokemon games: RBY, GSC, BW, X/Y 2 Metroid games: Super Metroid, Metroid Prime 2 Smash games: Melee, Brawl Goldeneye Earthbound (Damnit Earthbound fans) Tetris (26 Nintendo) 6 Final Fantasy games: VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XIII 2 Kingdom Hearts games Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG (10 Square) 4 Metal Gear Solid games 4 Valve games: Half-Life 2, Portal, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2 3 Bethesda games: Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 3 Blizzard games: Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo II 2 Bioware games: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 Resident Evil 4 Shadow of the Colossus Assassin's Creed II God of War Uncharted 2 Halo League of Legends (Urgh.) Tales of Symphonia Castlevania Symphony of the Night Street Fighter II (in a bracket this stacked, though? LOST.) Mega Man X Sonic the Hedgehog II That's already 64 games and I left out a lot of recent stuff, including all of GOTY 2012. Also not included were FFI, FFIV, FFXII, FFT, Paper Mario TTYD, Pokemon RSE and DPP, Link's Awakening, the entire Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty series, KOTOR, Golden Sun...And you just know board 8 is going to do stuff like get Phoenix Wright and Persona games in. We'd have to be prepared for a huge number of snubs. Definitely seeing the problem with 12 hour matches but it's also pretty hard to look at all that and say "let the chips fall where they may." Maybe it would be for the best but yeah. (AND I SWEAR TO GOD IF WE SEE MONKEY ISLAND AGAIN IN A 64 GAME BRACKET) --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |
Match XCIX: (25) Mr. Game & Watch vs. (4) Nathan Drake vs. (12) Pokemon Trainer Blue Previous Round Mr. Game & Watch 39.74% Lee Everett 37.12% Meat Boy 23.14% Nathan Drake 41.80% Pac-Man 38.80% Steve 19.40% Pokemon Trainer Blue 48.16% Fox McCloud 44.09% Wolf ODonnell 7.75% Analysis I literally do not have a single one of these characters in my bracket for the second round. Overall this match is quite simple to predict. Blue, like almost all Pokemon characters impressed by easily winning over Fox and making a strong case that he would have even won even if Wolf was not in the poll. While he does not rank among the top of Pokemon he did show to be a decent mid-carder which is more than enough to win this match. It has taken three major releases, but Nathan Drake is now officially over the fodder line. While his boost from Uncharted 3 was nowhere near the amount he got from Uncharted 2 it was enough to finish over Pac-Man. A lot of people feel that Pac-Man should be the fodder line and while he does rank around there this was almost a perfect match for him as he avoided nostalgic opponents. Therefore I would not be surprised if Nathan Drake looked impressive by comparison. While Mr. Game & Watch was able to use his association with Super Smash Bros. to win the match he does not have that luxury. For one thing his opponents are a lot more well-known and second we have a Nintendo character in this poll and I feel the SFF is going to be massive. I know Pokemon tend not to SFF there other Nintendo opponents, but I feel this could be an exception to the rule. This should be a simple match where no one is close to upsetting the other. One thing that might be interesting is to see if Game & Watch drops below 10% due to SFF and the expected weakness of his three-pack. But honestly, I think that's stupid, seeing how contest season in the past used to bring lots of traffic to this site. 128 entrant bracket, 24-hour matches start in Round 3/4/5.
