That's why people vote for him. It's not like noone knows who Gyrarados is. tbh I think a lot of "random" pokemon from the 1st gen would be magikarps level. Or at least Lugias level. Lugia is the very definition of a random Legendary. You could stick any of the legendary birds from Gen 1 and they'd perform at the same level as Lugia probably better. Certainly Zapdos. but the fanbase from gen 1 is split quite a bit. I know it's impossible to tier Pokemon but...I would put Gyarados somewhere between Lugia and Jigglypuff in terms of strength Random RBY Pokemon will do worse than Lugia,I think Jigglypuff is..I dunno..I can't be the only one to hate Jigglypuff,can I? dum pink ball |

Despite Dante being weaker this is still quite impressive by Squritle Using a constant Zidane that places him in the near-elites. Dunno if this was mentioned yet, but if you hold Dante constant (dubious, I know) Squirtle gets pretty close to Cloud. I see people saying this is largely Dante bombing because of how well
Zidane is doing. I guess that makes sense, with DmC and all. Perhaps
Squirtle isn't really the godslayer he appears. Don't think we can be
sure at this point though. Also his next round performance might not tell us much because you just know he'll overperform vs. Cloud. ZFS posted... Haha. Worst match! Sora/Riku
vs. Hitler/Other Guy was hilarious. After the start of the match /b/
made major percentage cuts for a couple hours but failed to stop Sora's
lead from increasing. Eventually they give up and then the kids got home
from school and completely buried Hitler. Oh, and yes, Hitler won Germany in that match. Most of Europe actually! --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |
This
match was one of the easier matches to predict. Squirtle may not beat
Charizard, but he shouldn't be too far off. He might even be stronger
than Pikachu. Dante can't touch that. Even though Pokemon is over-represented in this contest, I'm pretty fine with it. That franchise has the most interesting characters for the contests these days, so the popular ones should make it in. N, Lugia, and Jigglypuff shouldn't have made it, while having both MissingNo. and Magicarp makes little sense, but Charizard/Pikachu/Squirtle/Red should be contest staples now. Blue also if he can prove he is as strong as his first round shows. I mean, we already get like 15 slots dedicated to Final Fantasy every contest. If you're pissed off about over-representation, you should have been complaining about it years ago. --- Thinking Luigi and WAAAA > Pokemon Trainers was dumb, and Pokemon rocks. People complain about Final Fantasy overrepresentation every year,

I always throw away Weepinbell when talking about "most forgettable gen 1 Pokemon" A middle evo,evolving with a stone so you don't spend too much time with...a mediocre Pokemon stats wise..and a stupid design He never had a central role in the anime either (the most important role he had was a 30 seconds fight on the 9th episode) |
