It's
kind of silly to complain about Link fans in the first place. We've
seen more variance among Zelda than anything else. Everyone loves Link
and they vote for him and he wins the contest. If they were drones then
they would have never allowed Groose to be hilariously bad fodder or
even Midna to be a lower-midcarder. Zelda is distinctly tiered - it's
just that Link is the most popular guy we have in the contest save
Draven. And like I said, this is a part of the very nature of Pokemon. It doesn't make much sense to expect a clear tiering. The results over the past few contests have suggested a jumbled mess where any one of the RBY heavy hitters could be as strong or stronger than the others on any given day, and that's what we're getting once again here. I've talked about a "vacuum theory" for multiway polls in which each match must be analyzed in its own little bubble before you turn to past stats as your guide. Pokemon
has officially undergone a heel turn in this contest. I had fun rooting
for them when they were the shiny new underdog stars, but they've
become Cena (I don't know anything about wrestling, I'm going to assume
that all makes sense). I can't bring myself to vote against Charizard - OH WAIT, he has a ridiculously favorable circumstance against Mega Man. What a jerk. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

One
thought I had about a possible way for Draven to lose: What if one or
two of the largest gaming news websites posted an article about the
final right before it started? From what we've seen from unrallied
Draven, it's unlikely that he'd receive a large percentage of the votes
brought in from the article. Are any of those sites large enough to
make a difference? |
Considering
Link is finally, finally, only took them 10 years finally getting
anti-voted at the start of the match, I think he's lost his status the

The 'drones' have migrated. Being serious for a second, I think I'd find the Pokemon worse in a way because at least Link is just one guy. Pokemon could easily do more "damage" with Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charizard, Blastoise, Mewtwo, Pikachu. No single one of them is likely to be as strong as the very highest tier, but they can probably clear out anyone but the best of the best. It's the numbers that are the problem to me! One or two of them, fine! But I get the feeling Pokemon impressing is just going to lead to, "Hey guys, let's get more in!" could fill an entire bracket of Pokemon RBY characters and it's
combined total strength would be higher than that of a normal bracket.

Dante
is pretty non-transitive at this point. He would probably beat Zidane
as badly as Squirtle is 1 v 1, then go and drop it to Lugia in the next

also got Leon > Shadow > Freeman but that's probably changing. I
don't feel very confident in anything tonight and am afraid just what
that RE6 picture may do to Leon. RE6 was so terribly f***ing received by
the fanbase that Chris Redfield couldn't even get in a 243 character

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Leon would probably be the
most resistant to the RE6 backlash, and Chris would be the easiest
target for it. Leon's at least felt like a solid RE game,

I still don't get this "you don't have to vote for all the pokemon". Err... it's because I like the game? I don't have to vote for anyone, but I like pokemon, but I'm voting for them if there isn't anyone I like more than them. |

Oof,
no good from Dante at all. Looks like my instincts on Ramza vis-a-vis
Laharl were right! This is pretty poor, though - people like to rag on
him but he was in contention with Yoshi and Ryu all day, conceivably
even winning a 24 hour match against the latter. Him doing this poorly
not just on Squirtle, but being relatively close to Zidane speaks volumes, it looks like he's weakened. lol DmC Cloud barely drilled Frog down to 36% last night. Dante. I was worried after Kratos looked bad. This should have been
