isn't some fresh or exciting social media experiment. It's not even
original - it's cribbing off 4chan and their Launchpad McQuack push. We
already knew this could happen. Now it will, and it won't be
particularly surprising when it does. No one believes this is anything

Doesn't this board still have a user level restriction on posting? Could users brought in from the R2 rally even post here yet? There's definitely been complaints about the board getting stagnant and shrinking. My memory is good for this sort of stuff. Votals being atrocious too, but that wasn't the only thing. |
The final is seriously going to be Draven 55% Snake 20% Mario 25% I dont know how anyone can be happy with that. All of Link's dominance pales in comparison to Draven and his reddit army. We are going to miss out on an epic final for a throwaway match where half the voters will never even return to gamefaqs. |

what it's worth I haven't seen a single user 'come out of the woodwork'

Link w/Mario restraining him v Snake/Cloud was really the best final we could have hoped for given the bracket. If you moved things around and somehow got Link to lose earlier (put Samus there? Link/Snake/Mario
as a final is kind of lame because it's rigged to give Snake a
puncher's chance, but a Link v Snake 1v1 bonus poll directly following
it if Snake wins could be interesting because bandwagon and stuff.
Besides, it's not like MGSV isn't getting a lot of buzz and reddit
attention... that rally potential could easily be enough to push Snake
over the top if the chips fall right. I don't think GameFAQs would have really minded at all if Snake had been pushed over Link 1v1 by a reddit rally (at least that's what I'd like to think <_<), especially since he's potentially our #2 character right now anyway. This, in contrast, is just designed to throw the board into whining and chaos. And it's working! Still
don't think the board is really whining too much. There's a lot of new
users who seem to be trying to induce it but this still seems pretty
tame. It'll probably be worse after Link loses, even though I'd like to think the board just shrugs at it because it's near inevitable so no one should be surprised. I genuinely think you'd get more whining out of a Link win if that was really the goal.
