has the same problem as Sephiroth and Magus. It used to be cool, but

Back at their peak the DBZ characters would have been very strong. Goku and Vegeta would probably have been near-elites, Piccolo and Trunks would have been high midcard or better as well. Now though they'd be lower. Pretty sure the noble nine of non VG Characters would be Batman Luke Skywalker Darth Vader Superman James Bond Indiana Jones Han Solo Spider-Man The Joker 3 Reps from Star Wars, 3 DC Reps, and 3 Other. Others I see doing good -The 4 Ninja Turtles -Lord of the Rings (Probably Gandalf is the strongest) -Aladdin's probably the strongest Disney Character, with Simba or another Lion King also being strong, maybe even Mickey. -Obviously other Marvel characters, particularly Iron Man, Wolverine, and the Hulk stand out. --- Currently Playing: Persona 3 FES Currently Reading: Nothing Currently Currently Watching: Dr. Who |

So I was talking in terms of somewhat realistic options. Though even Dark Link seems like a stretch - Bacon doesn't seem keen on Dark Link. Mickey I see being a stronger version of Pac-Man; reasonably strong but completely folds against anyone "iconic". Also Genie > Aladdin --- *shrug* |
The
thing with Dark Link is that he's mainly interesting for the nightmare
scenario: Link > Dark Link > Cloud/The Field. The softer version
is Dark Link being around Megaman/Crono/Sonic. Not as nightmarish but
still pretty bad. These are unlikely, but they're the main reason Dark
Link is interesting, and we don't want to see them- if this were the
case, we'd rather not hold the match and leave it in doubt. The more
likely result is that Dark Link is a midcarder, but that's not very

Really,
all three of those quotes are amazingly spot-on for what that match
could be. Draven has his signature quote, X has the perfect line, and
even Ryu's fits too. Draven MUST defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance,
after all. |

I'm
kind of surprised that the really obvious default splash wasn't used
for Draven, really (where did that pic even come from? Never seen it
before), but I'll take it. Seriously cannot wait for that match to
start. |
Also I'm skeptical about James Bond. Goldeneye has proven to be one of the stronger games on the site, I see no reason for Bond to be weak. Supes could be strong in a more Mario sense, just because it's friggin Superman, and I'm pretty sure Man of Steel got a lot of love. Goku could also be strong, and if the anime pool is there it would most likely vote for him. Ryu has the pic factor and I assume he'll have a better night vote, and
if the rally was mostly legit from round 1, a lot of those votes(if

don't think Ryu's pic advantage is crazy or anything, but I think it's
noticeable. A lot of you seem to think differently, though, so I suppose
it won't be worth much. If Ryu can even make it close I'll be pretty
stoked though, since I'm so down on this upset - I think it's the pick
this round I made that has the least chance of happening (other than,

and for the record, I don't think pic factor is all that big of deal.
It probably sways a few votes here and there, but people know how to
read. There are some cases of it being harmful for certain guys, like solid s***, or toon Link to a degree. This pic, because it doesn't look like Megaman, could very well be hurtful. it doesn't really matter what he looks like, X is gonna get massacred
in Europe 'cause they don't know who he is. If it matters at all it'll
be by cutting his USA percentage, and while it may hurt slightly it
