Come to think of it, if Magikarp is beating Megaman in USA, then where are the votes that are putting Megaman in the lead coming from?

USA but it's not updated yet

Because the poll maps don't update every 5 minutes. They update about every 10 minutes.

Everyone got destroyed here. The top tiers did terribly with single digit prediction percentages but the middle tiers still only float in the 20s and some 30s. Not having contest knowledge helped here but not really by that much. The last -3 bracket (68 points) dies. All preexisting -4s (67 points) get it wrong but a -4 remains because of the -3 that got it wrong. Of the 351 brackets with in 9 points of perfect (62 or better), only 15 got the match right. That's a little over 4%. Pit was the favourite in the guru bracket and the Pit backers got bailed out since a Cecil win would hurt them a lot more especially if they had Pit winning in Round 2. This match also takes down the final 0 bracket. A good try but it wasn't enough in the end.

1 person fell off the Top 49. Nintendoboy375 did not have Urdnot Wrex winning the match.

46 people got the match wrong and survived. Current first place CarveyFAQs, current second place ChenKenichiFan, former third place LordoftheMorons, RAMS, voltch, Xcarvenger, Astro1446, Billy_Gates, Denzokuken, Fr0zoN, Hagankefs, Jobi1, Luis_Sera89, metaIslugg, PSU_Jer, Rex915, Sorozone, SuorGenoveffa, ahirsch101, alblito, AlecTrevylan006, Als52, BlAcK_TuRtLe, Bran_Stark, ChronoT7, Clichokeet, Colegreen_c12, creativename, Crossfiyah, DarkFalconX, dethfdddddh, FFIXOwner, frodragon, GloriousSweater, greengravy294, Hitagi, InvisibleOmega, jacko_vdz, JaySolano, jkmill550, KateWilder, KommunistKoala, Koopa95, Kotetsu534, Lord_Kawaii and MZero11 did not have Urdnot Wrex winning the match.

I'm not a Mega Man fan. I've only played four games out of his like nine franchises. But Magikarp having any strength at all is moronic, and the fact that the board tried to push him over Mega Man even for a moment speaks volumes about how dumb it can be at times.

He's iconic for sure but to be the definitive icon of the 8 bit era, he'd have to be relevant worldwide which he isn't. He'd have a case if Europe actually cared for him.

I'm not a Mega Man fan. I've only played four games out of his like nine franchises. But Magikarp having any strength at all is moronic, and the fact that the board tried to push him over Mega Man even for a moment speaks volumes about how dumb it can be at times.

this is like the Mega Man version of "Deus Ex isn't winning by ENOUGH"

No, it's simply a callout to the board. There's a point where you have to realize **** is getting ran into the ground. Voting for a horse like we're a board of bronies, or for a dumb fish just because of 'lol the upset so epic XD' is dumb as hell, period.

You know what else is dumb as hell? Getting in a strop because your opinion does not coincide with everybody elses.

EDIT: For the record, I hated the Epona result too. Silly to expect everyone to think the same as me though or call them out on it. People are going to have a different opinion to me from time to time.

Wow. Someone had Magikarp winning the entire contest? That was really a long shot.

Hey, if it worked it would be an easy win

didn't some guy fill out a joke bracket with L-Block winning in 2007 and got 2nd (because 1st actually did a serious bracket....with L-Block winning too)

Magikarp's probably the only joke thing I've ever found funny in these terrible contests (well, Slime too, if that counts). I dunno why he's getting so much venom considering all the crap that's been joke voted in these things. He's actually the only unique one the other ones are just like "lol random garbage object FUNNY"

No. No it's not. Deus Ex was untested and unproven and it could have bombed horribly. This is a freaking Noble Niner against a freaking fish. It's idiotic. You have an icon of gaming and contest powerhouse against a fish. You literally could not get a dumber result than Mega Man blowing this medium-to-high midcarder out of the water. If this was Link 55/45ing some newcomer, would you laugh at the people shocked and appalled that he's not winning by more?

Gotta keep things in perspective.

Missingno beating Crono was pretty dumb too! Not as much though because at least Missingno was a HUGE deal back when RBY was a thing. The legendary Level 100+ Pokιmon in Cinnabar, the savegame destruction rumor, the infinite rare candy trick, all of this made Missingno a huge deal to anyone who played RBY when it came out. But Magikarp? Magikarp's a random-ass Pokemon. It's like voting for Pidgey just because it's probably the first Pokιmon you caught in RBY. It's a shameful amount of fanboyism for a game that was great, but doesn't need nor deserve such a deranged amount of love.

I voted for magikarp because I LOVED pokemon when I was growing up. SO many feels are had.

Calling Epona "just a horse" is a huge understatement.

I've never played OoT, but even I know that Epona is/was a big deal to a lot of people. I can say this without a shadow of a doubt. She's never gonna be a NN-breaker or anything, but she's not exactly Midgar Zolom either.

Oh wow you think MissingNo is better than Magikarp?

You've lost all right to complain about this, Kanz, I'm sorry.

Wow, I thought Geno would at least gain some of the percentage that Magikarp has been bleeding. Almost all of Magikarp's percentage is going to Mega Man. Geno has only gained 0.30% since the board vote ended.

Yo, in all fairness, I'm not sure why everyone was s***ing on Missingno either. He's a great joke entrant.

Sure beats having L-Block in the contest again and again.

I entirely agree with Kanz, both on this being a dumb joke and MissingNo being legit. Heck, I thought all the factors Kanz mentioned gave MissingNo a pretty strong base strength last year.

I played OoT and every other Zelda game. I've even finished the CD-i games. Epona's rescue is something I recall fondly, but the fact that she brutalized an actual character like Mordin is pretty much two steps removed from the jokes people used to make about Tifa's Orthopedic Underwear winning a match again high fodder. It indicates that people liked Zelda so much that they'd vote for anything related to it over most things not because they actually like it, but because it's Zelda. That leaves a very sour taste in my mouth, as I like to think our voter base has gotten smarter over time. It's disappointing when Board 8 is the group that disproves it, of all things.
