It's close enough that whoever wins could lose it if the match was held again tomorrow. Drake is trying to pull away, though.

Pac could still come back, it's not prudent to get caught up in each 5 minute update (now, geolocation and Drake probably being better with the night vote doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but let's ignore that)

FWIW, Drake did worse in Europe than overall (2010) and Pac did better in Europe than overall (2008). of course, Drake was facing The Boss and Pac-Man was facing a bunch of Nintendo guys so that probably doesn't mean much.

Oh right I forgot those were mutually exclusive things

Anyway, looks like the night vote's starting to roll in. Drake's intake is staying consistent, but Pac-Man's dying out there.

Looking at Pac-Man's 2 matches in 2008, the morning vote was his best time period. So if Pac-Man can keep it close when the morning vote starts, he could pull a comeback.

It looks like Uncharted, UC2, and UC3 along with all his other exposure may have finally been enough to get Drake very slightly over the fodder line now.

Hard to say since Pac-man is hard to pin down as well. Drake probably hasn't changed that much since he was expected to be close to Pac-Man.

I think Drake being in that Playstation All Stars game has actually caused him to lose a little strength. That seems to be the way all these guys are trending.

He'd have already put this match away otherwise.

I don't think that's TOO much to ask for Pac-Man to overcome but it'll be a tall task.

Eh, I'd be kinda surprised if Pac-Man could come back from that far down with the vote totals as low as they are in night matches. The biggest successful comeback we've seen so far is 500 votes, but that was with Alucard making his comeback at night, not in the morning. Pac-Man down 500 with 4 hours left would probably be too much to ask.

Sadly.

Pretty sad that a character with 3 extremely good current gen games behind him + PAS can only just manage to beat friggin Pac Man. Is nostalgia that big a factor here or do people simply not play the new games?

Both. People here play don't play as many recent games, and when they do they usually consider than inferior to a random 15-year old extremely dated game from their childhood that, in their mind, can never be topped.

Oh right, trend chart from the day match:

Time | Lee | Meat | G&W | Votes
0:05 | 30.18% | 25.89% | 43.93% | 560
1:00 | 34.94% | 24.00% | 41.07% | 4159
2:00 | 36.89% | 23.68% | 39.43% | 3193
3:00 | 36.42% | 23.03% | 40.55% | 2836
4:00 | 36.18% | 22.62% | 41.20% | 2471
5:00 | 38.64% | 21.81% | 39.55% | 2210
6:00 | 37.39% | 24.93% | 37.68% | 2062
7:00 | 38.76% | 22.48% | 38.76% | 1886
8:00 | 38.36% | 23.11% | 38.53% | 1744
9:00 | 38.36% | 23.81% | 37.83% | 1533
10:00 | 38.22% | 21.27% | 40.51% | 1528
11:00 | 38.08% | 22.82% | 39.11% | 1455
12:00 | 37.13% | 22.47% | 40.40% | 1344

Not a lot of movement here. G&W and Meat Boy do well out of the gate, but they eventually stabilize after they drop a bit. Lee does better in the second half of the match.

X-Stats:

Mr. Game & Watch – 50.00%
Lee Everett – 48.30%
Meat Boy – 36.80%

G&W's prediction percentage was 26.40%

But we could have a match with a 24 seed and a 25 seed next round if Pac-Man pulls this out.
