Do
you keep up with games? Or is this actually a site that doesn't play
games anymore but still cares enough to have character contest? These
questions are coming off as rude, but I'm just saying that I saw a lot
of headlines on Gamespot and other sites about Super Meat Boy. I
couldn't get away from hearing about the game back when it came out. I'm
pretty sure Super Meat Boy was being given GOTY nominations at major
publications, if not the award itself. It's one of the biggest indie
games out there, and unlike Braid, Meat Boy is both the title character
and generally has a more interesting character than standard platform
leaders. I didn't even like Super Meat Boy that much before I realized
it was my computer having issues with it, but I still found Meat Boy
himself a likable character. I think Isaac did better than expected, and
I think Meat Boy would be quite a bit stronger. I mean, I think this is
the hardest to predict match in round 1, all three could take it, but
too many people are writing off Meat Boy as a non-factor. --- Green is not a creative color |

I
really want to know what a contest like this would be if the average
site user stayed at about the same playing level as those in the first
GameFAQs contest. Like, if a completely new site managed to have a
character contest with very active gamers with no outside interference
(because lol Gamespot), who would the strongest characters be? I mean,
Solid Snake established himself off two games I think, because no one
seems to care about him pre-MGS. There are plenty of modern characters
that are better established now than Snake was in 2002. I'd figure at
least someone between Master Chief, Kratos, Sora, or Dante would be
strong enough to at least rival Snake's level in 2002, but the only ones
who manage are Pokemon and other Final Fantasy characters. Mario, Snake, Sonic, all of the noble nine, I'm pretty sure would still be fairly strong, and I do feel that the Noble Nine did a fair job summarizing the big characters back in 2002. Who would the noble whatever be if the contests started now and not ten years ago? --- Green is not a creative color |
