To be fair, Donkey Kong surprised us during Rivalry Rumble. If DK advances anyway, then... ...he fooled us once, shame on him. But if he fools us twice, shame on us. just realized that in the past few days, Ulti has given his extreme
opinions on StarCraft II and post-N64 Zelda. Those happen to be the
exact same franchises that were in the finals of G4's best series
contest, and the same series that produced the games that won G4's
2010/2011 GOTY contests. By now, they might as well be the two franchises with the most rally-happy fanbases on the Internet, or at least the ones that pay the most attention to contests (although G4 is probably the only crime scene). On unikgamer, thankfully, StarCraft II is not ranked all that high (#89 compared to #63 for the original StarCraft). On the other hand, Wind Waker is #25 in the site's overall rankings while Twilight Princess is #46 (to put this in context, Super Mario Bros. 3 is #26, Final Fantasy VI is #33, Melee is #30, Super Metroid is #36, Metroid Prime is #50, Super Mario Galaxy is #47, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is #57. And then if you want to think that Ryu Hayabusa underperformed because of Ninja Gaiden III and that Big Daddy underperformed because of BioShock 2... Also the pic for that match gives me no confidence in Lightning. Basically, there's A LOT going against her. It'd be interesting to see how they stack up against each other, but I don't think Lightning would win. What's NOT generic about Lightning? Man, why am I asking this to you guys? I have a good friend online who's a huge fan of Lightning and her games (FFXIII is his 2nd favorite FF, behind XII, and Lightning is his favorite FF character). I can just ask him. By characters like her, I mean: -Characters whose most recent game received a lot of backlash (Ryu Hayabusa and Big Daddy). -Characters from recent games. Although I guess that last point can be seen as kinda dumb seeing how I'm championing both Lee AND Meat Boy over Mr. Game & Watch...this is different. It's the protagonist of a divisive game (and from what I heard, she's not even really the protagonist! Her game has an ensemble cast, and then she doesn't show up much at all in the sequel), vs. a gaming icon, not a late unlockable in two fighting games vs. the main characters of two of the most popular games of the last few years. --- Currently Playing - Super Metroid, MGS4, Brawl, FFVII, Wind Waker, RE4, SOTC |

Groose
hasn't had an hour matching his current percentage in 5-6 hours. He's
probably going to keep falling until the match ends. Same is true of Yoshimitsu, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. Lu Bu's been pretty stable, actually.
