Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. So
I was looking at that vote-in poll that had Yoshimitsu. Dude sucked bad
in that vote-in, although to his credit, he was competing with other
fighting characters. But he lost to Dan Hibiki, who got murdered in his
match a little while ago. Then you had Nightmare come in and disappoint a
few matches later. But then again, we have no decent read on Groose. Dammit....should I just go Groose > No Pick > Lu Bu? --- Drop it to the floor... |

I
wasn't taking issue with U2 being a better game, just that U3 didn't
matter or didn't sell as well. It sold over 6 million copies and
increased awareness for Uncharted and Drake dramatically. He was in
Subway commercials and everything. More than a third of the entire
series sales come from U3. Just saying! Doesn't necessarily mean Drake
wins, but Uncharted 3 will definitely have mattered for him. Hmmm...you've convinced me to no pick/no pick/Steve instead of Pac-Man/Drake/Steve. BK_Sheikah00 posted... Rinoa Rinoa isn't weak. Squall, Aeris and Tifa are the worst possible opponents for her and she drew one of them. And still almost finished above Hero, who is weak but I really doubt he's garbage. Whether she's stronger than Locke or Celes is pretty difficult to tell...who knows how much Aeris SFFed her, but it was likely a pretty sizable amount. DSRKVRTheDealer posted... it, I'm going Groose > Yoshi > Lu Bu. I see this match being very
similar to Tharja > Tiny Tina. You have a relatively new side
character from a big-name Nintendo game matching up against a
recognizable character that's expected to have fodder-like strength. On
