Haste_2 posted... The only reason I picked Booker was because of Big Daddy's past good performance. But Bioshock in general has been awful this year and I never forecasted that. After seeing how the others did, Gilgamesh dominating like this is no surprise. Exactly what I did. Worked for Elizabeth but not here. Should have stuck with the FF character. I'm in 13th on the leaderboard, I wonder if I'll survive again like I did for my first 2 incorrect matches. |

Drake should be noticeably stronger than last time, and should be one of the strongest characters of his generation along with Shepard, Glados, and Lightning. He's not comparable to a brand new character like Booker who just had his first game. |

Drake
lost to The Boss. Pac Man beat Ocelot. Characters like Drake are
bombing all over the place. I don't think Pac-man will have much trouble
winning. I'm going with Pac-Man in the Expert Challenge and wish I had
him in my bracket. I don't really know why I chose Drake in my bracket.
The notes I wrote for myself from back then have Pac-man favoured by a
bit but I checked over my bracket a bunch of times so it can't be a
misclick either. I have some recovery upset picks that I'm okay with
soon afterwards that I can recover a bit with but having a username that

I
don't feel 100% on Drake post-UC3 as I don't have much of a read on him
(like the majority of GameFAQs) and I'd feel a lot more comfortable in a
1v1... but in this particular three-way, I feel very confident in Pac. --- sig |

example in 2010 Nathan Drake was expected to get 30.95% against Luigi
while in 2008 Pac-Man got 37.50% against Mewtwo with Ness in the poll.
Using the 2010 Ganondorf/Mewtwo match that puts Pac-Man at 31.01%
against Ganondorf. Even without Uncharted 3 Nathan winning would be

Pac-Man held up quite well against Mewtwo, especially when people were expecting him to lose to Ness in that match. It also had a much larger marketing campaign, had the largest beta of any game on the PS3, and was incredibly well-received, from critics and fans. Man
sucks to see Booker losing so handily. I swear every match I've got
wrong so far was one of my personal favourites. Reyn/Wheatley/N and now
Booker. I guess Kefka too, but I went with Zack so happy to lose that
one. This must be how people who hate Pokemon feel when their favourite characters get stomped by them! |
Match LI: (8) Groose vs. (11) Lu Bu vs. (20) Yoshimitsu Previous Contest Groose N/A N/A Lu Bu N/A N/A Yoshimitsu N/A N/A Analysis Another match with three new characters and all of them expected to be weak. I feel Groose takes this match mostly because he is from Zelda. Sure Skyward Sword is not expected to be as strong as the other Zelda games and anyone outside the trio of Link/Ganondorf/Zelda is not very strong, but you do not need much strength to win here. Groose is a big part of the story and while I would not compare him with Midna in terms of strength people do not hate him so he is no Tingle either. I use to have relatively high expectations for Yoshimitsu as he is a mainstay in two fighting games and while fighting characters outside of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are known to be weak I thought he would have some strength. After winning a spot in the Nomination Rally Tournament for the 2010 contest he was forced to compete in the vote-ins where he had a terrible performance, but to his defence there were a bunch of fighting characters in the poll. Still after watching Nightmare flop earlier this contest meaning Soul Calibur is likely forgotten now and Tekken was never that big I do not expect much out of him. Maybe I am wrong, but I always saw Dynasty Warriors as being rather niche and not as popular as the other fighting series. While there are some fans of the series on the board I do not see Lu Bu finishing over someone who is a bit of a fan favourite in two fighting series that are more popular than Dynasty Warriors. Groose can lose the match, the only thing I am relatively confident in is Yoshimitsu finishing over Lu Bu, but just by looking around some people do seem to be going for that upset. So
what are the chances that when the final X-Stats are calculated, Lu Bu
ends up looking weaker than Chester? I can't help thinking that
Yoshimitsu might have been the worst possible opponent for his X-stat
value--DW is essentially a less-mainstream Soul Calibur with actual
historical figures instead of just a historical time period, and
Yoshimitsu's probably not going to have a great X-stat value himself so
if Lu Bu gets destroyed by SFF...and seriously, there are literally only
two characters in this entire ninepack that are worth much and they
ended up in the same R1 match. If Sora can put up about 70% in R2, which
with this competition is actually possible, Lu Bu could end up below
Chester in the X-Stats. I think. Non-1v1 X-stats aren't really my strong

I'm
expecting Lu Bu to get severely "last place factor'd" here and be left
in the dust. If no one recognizes you and you bring nothing else to the
match (namely an appealing picture), it's very hard not to be
left in the dust. We saw it happen with Reyn, and he was up against a

I
wasn't taking issue with U2 being a better game, just that U3 didn't
matter or didn't sell as well. It sold over 6 million copies and
increased awareness for Uncharted and Drake dramatically. He was in
Subway commercials and everything. More than a third of the entire
series sales come from U3. Just saying! Doesn't necessarily mean Drake
wins, but Uncharted 3 will definitely have mattered for him. --- tune in tokyo 142.94 |
