Yeah I feel like Dante can very arguably tangle with this, at least, so next round should stay debatable. Ramza's percentage on Squirtle now beating Laharl's on Dante - I still maintain Ramza should beat Laharl straight up, but he's probably got lots more to rise and they ain't too far away.

For whatever it's worth. We have so few kids nowadays that the ASV will probably barely register. There will be trends, sure. But it won't really swing matches.

I would take Laharl over Ramza, these days. He looked better in 2010 and he's more 'relevant'.

How would Charmander do relative to Squritle? It' sort of cheating since it's essentially mini-Charizard but Charmander should be the most popular starter so it's weird if its weaker than Squirtle.

I think Laharl does better against strong entrants but Ramza has better strength overall. So for the purposes of these Laharl is stronger overall but if Squirtle were replaced with someone like say The Boss Ramza would look better.

Laharl isn't as recognizable as Ramza but he's more liked. That's what I think.

Dante definitely can tango with this "on paper." It's not all about numbers though. I'd only truly be worried about the little squirt's chances if Dante had looked clearly statistically superior, and that won't be the case even if Squirtle bleeds quite a bit the rest of the way through.

Yeah I wouldn't fault anyone for doubting Dante's ability to win close matches. If he beats Squirtle (and I think he probably will at this point, for what it's worth), he needs to win handily.

If Squirtle only ends up with a doubling here, I wouldn't really qualify it as a great performance. Riku got 62.5% on Ramza in 2010, and Ramza's probably weaker now.

Political campaign experience has inured me against the idea of 'intangibles', though I understand (at least on some level) that the contest is a bit different... maybe.

...that being said, I'm curious; assuming Ramza = Laharl what would Dante have to be projected on Squirtle to look *clearly* statistically superior, in your opinion? It could conceivably be quite a bit by the end of this if Squirtle can't stem the bleeding.
