Angel Kefka was pretty good, but I don't think it's the best Kefka can do. We've literally never seen proper, in-game, 8-bit, in all his laughing glory Kefka.

I'm not concern trolling, it would matter. Maybe not enough to win, but definitely matters.

There was a tournament going on on the Pokemon X board. 32 users participated in it, I was in the top 6. Only 2-3 battles are remaining in that tournament.

Without stealth rock, I'd actually use Charizard in OU. He makes for a great scarfer / specs user (not so much) on sun teams. OHKOing / 2hko'ing pretty much any switch in is nothing to joke about. And interestingly enough, there are a few opportunities where he could be switched in.

Volcorona would still be infinitely better though.

Remove rocks and it is decent at best. Best specs/scarf are literally Latios and Keldeo.
Zard's speed sometimes might fall in shot though. That's why people either keep Latios or Keldeo as their revenge killer. I either use Scarf Keldeo or Sash Alakazam.

Good point there, it can actually switch into many things if you remove rocks. Those Close Combats, Secret Sword, ground immunity and lastly a great counter for Scizor is something really commendable.

Yup, Volcarona would still be superior though.

I'm not sure I'll ever get over how bad the prediction percentage for Barret was.

I know, at least someone like Vincent or Altair was the bottom seed in his match. I'm more amazed on how lucky we were with Ike.

I haven't used specs latios in a long time. Too many teams were carrying Jirachi or Tyranitar. That, and I'm incredibly bitter. You don't know hatred until you've predicted a garchomp Sword's Dance and successfully switched your latios in, thinking you can scare it out with draco meteor. Then garchomp uses sucker punch because it's not actually a garchomp at all. Just an illusion zoroark. This is what I get for playing infrared battles with no team preview.

But yeah, latios and keldeo are both better at the end of the day. Hell, since I brought up sun teams, I should mention that specs heatran is better too. It's not very fast, but it makes stall teams cry. Nothing without flash fire is walking away straight from a specs sun boosted STAB base 120 attack.

what a strange match for me, I really like Zack but I also like Kefka . I guess a lot of Zack's support comes from FF7 fans who never played CC so they don't really care about Zack but vote for him because he is FF7, so when faced with another FF character from a loved FF game, those FF7 fans abandoned him. You really need to play Crisis Core to actually care about Zack. Still the fact that both Zack and Kefka are beating Ryu is good for FF in general, I assumed the "Not Final Fantasy" voters will give Ryu a huge boost like what happened with Hero/Aerith/Rinoa .

it's some combination of Zack being weaker, Kefka being stronger, and Ryu taking more votes from Zack than Kefka. Zack's had enough matches to prove his past strength wasn't a fluke, so i don't think this necessarily means bad things for Yuna. though i do have MC > Yuna due to it being a day match and having a third character to spread out anti-votes.

Guys, this is just another sign that stuff changed in three years. No one is "dumb" and the stats aren't "wrong." Clearly the site has moved on from FFVII stuff in three years, and people that predicted that are going to do very well in the contest.

More or less, using 2010 stats to predict this contest is like trying to use 2002 stats to predict 2005, sure a lot of it is correct, but there are some crazy results.

Overall, the 2010 stats have been very accurate so far.

FF7 is just one of the biggest outliers so far. It's just been garbage all the way through.

Oddly enough these results really aren't all that crazy if you just sit back and think about it. Kefka being more popular than Zack makes sense if you went into this completely blind. The trend to me is the site has gotten over its obsession with FFVII. This could get interesting later on.

The issue I had with this match is that Zack KILLED Zidane and Cecil, two FF protagonists that went on to do fairly good. I've always felt like Zack was a fraud waiting to happen but he never looked like it so far.

And it's one thing for Kefka to win, but he's just killing it here.

Zack just simply looked too good against Mega Man to doubt him much. Zack wasn't a fraud. Hell if Kefka is as strong as I reckon he is Zack still isn't a fraud, his game just isn't massively over anymore. I still expect good things from FF7 in general but they've dropped down the pecking order and forget being noble nine busting.

Also Kefka isn't killing the match tbh, it is a difference of 700 votes atm.

Overall, the 2010 stats have been very accurate so far.

So would the 2002 stats in a 2005 contest, you'd have surprises like Squall > Knuckles despite both characters going up against Snake with Knuckles performing better, but for the most part you'll be fine.

I don't see this as shocking at all. I though Zack and Kefka were close in strength, and it appears Kefka is the one final fantasy fans like more which makes sense, Kefka is a main character in FFVI while Zack is barely mentioned in FFVII and nobody cares about a PSP game. Zack is still strong and he would crush Ryu 1vs1 .

Damn, I have Zack winning TWO matches.

Yeah, but even accounting for the 3 year gap, Kefka got about the same thing on Bowser that Zack got on MM, and Mega Man characters have been looking great recently. That's a pretty big shift. Kefka doesn't really have a big reason to increase either, unless GameFAQs woke up and realized they liked him one day. I think there's probably something else at play here, I just can't figure out what.

Well, is it possible we all just didn't think about Kefka being villain SFF'd? Maybe Kefka was stronger than we thought in 2010 and just got Bowser smashed. He tends to do that.

Zack looked good against Mega Man thanks to MM's terrible performance in Europe , Zack only got 32% on MM in USA while Kefka got 37% on Bowser in USA in a day match. Zack was never really that much stronger than Kefka.
