Yeah,
I think Xenoblade in the GOTY poll was more of a band wagon effect. If
its playrate was that high its characters should be doing halfway

Take his last six and he falls way short. Take his last twelve updates and he's also short. Take his last eighteen updates and again he's short. He's running out of time and has to bust out beyond killer updates to win. |

That said, I doubt Altair will have the level of success he's had in previous contests. IIRC he's not even in AC3 other than a mention of his robes. I would think Ezio, Connor, and Desmond Miles would all be more successful. --- I pwn you all! |

I mean everyone knew about Operation Rainfall and was happy it got localized, whether they played it or not. I wouldn't be surprised if half its votes were from people who haven't even played it. would argue they don't hurt each other at all, actually. Their voting
blocks just don't match. Protoman is a Power Hour character, Robotnik is
a morning voter, and Ike is an ASVer. They have a near-perfect spread
of all the important blocks and little overlap. |

match...close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades. ...And speaking of which, that might apply to me soon as well. Right now, only two perfect gurus remain, and each of us picked a different character to take this match. No matter what happens (unless Niko beasts lol) there will be one last perfect guru standing afterward. Should be a hell of a ride. |

It's
kind of funny that a lot of people thought the dealbreaker of this
match was that it was Ike in a day match when it's looking like he
would've done better at night. The deep night Europe block would've been
his best time. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
For the record I think Robotnik is probably hurting Protoman slightly more than Ike. Like, just the era split here. If you replace Robotnik with a new guy like say Ezio and Ezio gets the same exact percentage I feel like Protoman would win. I really felt this upset was in trouble immediately as I saw Robotnik with 30% moreso than Ike in the lead. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

okay: Ike's max lead of 480 would be good for #3 all-time in non 1v1
format in closest wire-to-wire matches, behind Tales of Symphonia >
God of War in the 2009 games contest and Tharja > Tiny Tina earlier
this contest. (Also eighth in any format, but for some reason we keep
the records for 1v1s and multi-ways completely separate on the
wire-to-wire wiki page, except for the "closest wire-to-wire matches
where the loser never took the lead"). Furthermore, if Proto Man is
unable to take the lead at any point, it would be the closest
wire-to-wire match in any format in which the loser never took the lead,
breaking the record set by MGS3 > SotC in GotD by 35 votes. That's cool. But did you know that Ike > Robotnik might also appear on those lists? Ike's lead over Robotnik is just 1820 at the moment, though each update seems to increase this. 1864 would be #42 among non-1v1s (we keep the top 50), while it'd be #24 in any format for "never took the lead past the first hour" (only keep top 25 there). Given how much time's left in the match...the lead need only reach 2061 to avoid the top 25 closest matches where the loser never led, but 2184 to avoid the top 50 closest non 1v1 matches. It might actually make it. (Note: There has to be something at stake to make a "closest matches" list--epic struggles for third place in fourways aren't listed, so neither will battles for second place here. But it is possible for a match to appear more than once due to multiple simultaneous battles--before the current contest began, the Oblivion > Symphonia > God of War > San Andreas match was in the top 50 closest non-1v1 wire-to-wire matches three times, for Symphonia > God of War, Symphonia > San Andreas, and Oblivion > Symphonia--the last of these is no longer among the top 50.) --- RIP GrapefruitKing and Emporer_Kazbar.
