Achromatic posted... Lightning is amazing looking, holy crap LMS no taste confirmed. Personally all of FFXIII's cast rubs me the wrong way in comparison to the casts of earlier FF games. FFXIII's
cast is just a bunch of generic anime guys to me. Exactly what people
say is true of earlier FFs but I don't feel that way. Seeing how much hate the game gets and how much it rubs me the wrong way already...literally the only reason I'm interested in trying it is because a good friend of mine online considers it to be one of his favorite FFs, I think it might be his second favorite after Final Fantasy XII (and he acknowledged that it's an unpopular opinion. He's a huge fan of Final Fantasies VI, VII, IX, and X as well, however he doesn't care for VIII as much). Even then, I'd still rather at least play VI, VIII, or X once I'm done with VII...whenever the heck that will be. The even more dumb thing is that said guy told me that Lightning is one of his top 4 VG protagonists (his other three are Snake, Lucas Kane from Indigo Prophecy, and Adam Jensen), and when I asked him why he liked FFXIII so much: "this was the first Final Fantasy that made me care about any of the characters. I couldn't care less about what was happening to Terra, Zidane, Firion or any other protagonist in Square's games, but FFXIII's story really made sense to me, the music is among the best in the series and the general art direction is beautiful. Then again my top two games are Metroid Prime and The Wind Waker. Also for some reason I feel tempted to support Squall already. It's more beneficial for him to be the one guy against two girls than to be in a match of all girls. Meanwhile, characters in Lightning's mold - those from very recent games - have bombed all contest. I don't think too many expect anything out of her, some might have her winning that match only because they think Zelda will leech too much off of Zard. And I do expect Zelda to hurt Zard significantly, Zeldrones and all that. They won't allow Zelda to totally collapse. bit late to this, but Ike actually looks consistent with last year
against Proto-man. Actually a little bit better than projected. Probably
no change, accounting for lol x-stats and everything. Eggman is impressing though. What we have to remember there is that his last performance was 8 years ago. Of course he's going to look completely different. Kind of why I think Vercetti's performance was legitimate and not due to a "third place factor".
