Honestly no idea why Wander's still doing as badly as he has done in the past despite SOTC performing so much better in GOTD than it did in the games contest held just the previous year. Either SOTC's big boost came between BGE2 and CBVIII, or the game's boost was a flash in the pan.

Similarly, a female character is destroying a Pokemon character here, possibly rendering the whole Pokemon point moot (well, as a whole at least). So...what the heck happened to Samus against the Trainers during Rivalry Rumble?

Trainers are from Red/Blue/Yellow. GSC is not Red/Blue/Yellow, and N is not from RBY.

He was weak because he's never seen, heard, or called by name in the original Half-Life, and he was marketed as just an ordinary scientist. Then for Half-Life 2 Valve started marketing the character, and characters addressed him by name in the game.

Speak of the devil...yes, that's probably a huge problem for Wander. He also has no obvious characterization in his game, and obviously isn't anything special without the subtle characterization he receives.

I'm a huge fan of his because of how sorry I feel for him as I progress through SOTC. I guess that doesn't really count as characterization though.

I was referring to how Metroid Fusion vastly exceeded expectations against Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, cluing us in to Pokemon consistently disappointing throughout the contest (RSE's 40% on Mario Galaxy was probably the only time the series looked impressive. Aside from that, even RSE itself needed a 4chan rally to beat the weakest GTA, and GSC/DPP's failures have been well-documented) and Metroid Prime impressing.

Yeah, but there's one positive that overwhelms all of that: he's facing two pieces of utter crap fodder. Also,

is just something that you guys made up to make you feel better about picking Bayonetta to actually win a match. As wrong as it ended up being, at least in Tharja/Juliet/Tina it was somewhat defensible to go against Nintendo--Borderlands 2 was the Game of the Year in 2012 and probably the most recognizable character was the one with the least natural strength, Juliet.

There's really no defending this one. If you put Bayonetta in Juliet's spot, I doubt the match result changes much at all. Bayonetta would get third in that match, and she's a distant second in this one but at least has the benefit of the awful Wander keeping her out of third.

But make no mistake: She will finish closer to Wander than to N.

Poor Tsunami.

It's an invalid point because Draven does suck, naturally. He needed a rally offsite to win the match, otherwise he is literally weaker than Persona. It doesn't have anything at all to do with this match because it was a special circumstance of hardcore rallying.
