The first match that everyone that had it perfect got it right.Since this was a 1 seed match,it makes sense.Still we had so many matches until this happened. But until this division ends prepare to see not even 50 perfect brackets.

Sypro, Bayonetta, Groose

Who is still perfect and has this?

I do, and I'm reasonably confident we'll still be perfect after those matches, it's the Expert Challenge giving me a headache.

I will say I could buy arguments for Clem/Reyn or Yoshimitsu but I think anyone taking N over Bayonetta is either unreasonably expecting her to be total trash or isn't super-knowledgable about the Pokemon fanbase. Anything after Gen. 1 takes a big dip in strength, to say nothing of a human character from the 5th gen.

But N is different. He's different. Yeah, he's different.

I will point out that KOS-MOS would triple Spyro based on their 2007/08 values, though of course that's four-way six-year-old x-stats. But since KOS-MOS tripled Dunban and SFF may have been involved, I think Reyn will at the least pull an impressive performance against Spyro if he doesn't squeak by him. I think no matter what, those two will have a pretty close match.

The real question is whether Clementine will have enough strength to be above both of them or not. That should be fun to see, and I certainly don't want to hazard any guesses.

Yeah when you proposed that possibility earlier, I looked into it but didn't want to make some halfassed guess based on old, old stats. Personally I think it would happen(KM tripling Spyro that is), but this site is heavy on nostalgia. I mean, there is a possibility of some Spyro nostalgia here.

I don't know if that's enough to have any sustained strength, or any strength at all really.

Regardless it should be an interesting match.

Chester has already been confirmed to be weaker than Tanner. You have Solid Snake's 94.30% against Tanner and Mewtwo's 95.88% against Chester. So yeah, Chester is weaker than Tanner.

Match XXI: (9) Spyro the Dragon vs. (10) Clementine vs. (19) Reyn

Previous Contest

Spyro the Dragon – 2007
10.13% against Leon Kennedy, Vivi and Ridley

Clementine – N/A
N/A

Reyn – N/A
N/A

Analysis

This match has had some debate and depending on whom you ask all three characters could have the ability to win this match. On one side you have a returning character who has never shown to have strength and on the other side you have two new characters whose games performed quite well in the previous Game of the Year polls.

After watching Dunban perform I do not have much faith in Reyn. Reyn should be stronger than Dunban and you do not have to be very strong to win this match, but I am not expecting much from him. Like I said for Dunban Xenoblade’s Game of the Year performance was due to stories on how great it is and that it should come to North America rather than the characters themselves.

I feel The Walking Dead and its characters will have some power and by I power I mean enough strength to win this type of match. The franchise has really taken off and while Clementine is only present in the games she is quite the fan favourite and there was a massive fan campaign in hyping the games which mostly focussed on Clementine. On the down side The Walking Dead’s performance at the Game of the Year poll could be inflated by the people that have watched the TV show and thus know nothing about her.

Spyro’s lack of strength has always shocked me. The guy was almost in mascot territory for the original Playstation and even back in 2002 it seems like GameFAQs does not care for the little guy. I do not expect much of a boost from his appearance from Skylanders as the game is mostly geared towards children and the game is not the type where you need to go find a walkthrough.

Spyro can take this match on recognition alone, but I feel The Walking Dead will have strength in this contest. Reyn will be one of those characters that does well, but likely not a factor within the match. Regardless who wins they will be one of the weaker characters to have won a match in this contest.

charmander6000’s Bracket: Clementine > Spyro the Dragon and Reyn

charmander6000’s Prediction: Clementine – 39.47%, Spyro the Dragon – 35.58%, Reyn – 24.95%

Well, according to his last appearance, that's pretty far from the case.. considering Vivi tripled him.

Kennedy quadrupled him. Ridley nearly doubled him.

The only reason to pick/have Spyro is based on recognition. That's the only thing he has going for him. He is simply more recognizable than Reyn or Clementine.

Reyn has more of a chance to beat Spyro in this match since Reyn is going to have a very strong board vote, while Spyro should look terrible with the board vote. But then Reyn will also crush Spyro during the dead zone and the early morning vote (thanks to Xenoblade being stronger in Europe than NA).

Naturally Morrigan is finishing strong during the night, lol. It'll be interesting to see how close she can stay to Sephiroth in the early going next round since it's a morning match.

Right now, assuming Edgeworth remained constant from '10, that pegs Morrigan around adjusted Laharl and Nathan Drake, so it looks like she hasn't dropped too badly from the last time we saw her.

Xeno has some strength. Fei Fong Wong isn't complete fodder. KOS-MOS has always been Ok. Xenoblade, bandwagoning or not, did good in the GOTY polls.

That's were the perceived "not complete fodder" strength is coming from.
