The only way I understand this is because I hear more about Jak/Ratchet's games than Spyro's. However, on unikgamer Spyro's games are generally ranked higher than Jak/Ratchet's games, and Spyro's A FREAKING DRAGON while the other two are just moar furry mascots in Sonic's wake. Heck, Spyro vs. Clementine is A DRAGON vs. A LITTLE GIRL. Then factor in how said dragon is an iconic character and the star of a major franchise (albeit really only major in the PS1 era) while said little girl is a side character in one game... Literally the only thing working against Spyro's favor is his horrible contest history. Clementine has her character design and status both working against her. I'm just given flashbacks to the whole Midna/Scorpion stupidity, where a gaming icon beat the side character from the much more popular game who was at a disadvantage in terms of character design. Also, child characters have never done well in contests. I won't say anything more, I'll just leave it at answers to your questions, because it gets pretty spoilery after that (I think it's open knowledge now about the whole clone thing). If you do plan on playing the series through, understand it's a pretty freaking weird series at times so go in with an open mind and enjoy the ride. Both are solid midcarders with Big Boss being stronger by a fair amount. Though I should also mention there is this persistant belief that Big Boss gets a small boost by people who think they are voting for Solid Snake or make the unconscious decision they are whenever the Old Man Big Boss picture isn't used. --- In Oz; cruel is the usual punishment. |
Spyro
was a bigger deal during the PS1 era, when he was the biggest mascot
for Sony after Crash Bandicoot. Of course, Crash was bigger, and he ends
up being more fondly remembered despite the two going down similar
trajectories once the PS2 hit and they got replaced by the likes of Jak

First off, Dunban's performance today is not doing anyone from Xenoblade any favors. Second, I have no idea who the heck Reyn is. Whoever he/she is, he/she also suffers from being a side character. Reyn's only notable advantage is that he's probably the most "GameFAQs"-type character in that bunch. MGS3
had a really intriguing story and characters, I just couldn't get past
the terrible gameplay decisions. I gave up at the fight with The End
because I was sick of pausing the game every 5 seconds to navigate menus
to change camo, do first aid, or eat the animals i just wasted 15
minutes hunting. All the stupid Kojima "innovation" absolutely killed the pacing of the game for me, so I just found a Youtube Movie Gear Solid video and watched that. MGS2 > MGS1 > MGS3 --- Game of the decade? More like Guru of the decade mirite? However, the Guru of the next decade so far is SuperNiceDog |

Oh yeah there was that. Somehow I only felt those were minor problems at best when I played the game, or at least in hindsight. I might have made a big deal out of them back then. I wouldn't say they're terrible gameplay decisions, but I can see why one would say that. Maybe I just have overly fond memories of the camo-based stealth. PxZ is still a fairly fresh game and when you're a jRPG character whose popularity is fading with the lack of new games, a buzzworthy crossover game is enough of a shot in the arm to keep you relevant I'd like to think. Match XV: (8) Chester vs. (11) Mewtwo vs. (20) Zero Previous Contest Chester – N/A N/A Mewtwo – 2010 41.35% against Ganondorf Zero – N/A N/A Analysis Well this match has the potential to be the largest blowout. Despite not being too far from Charizard and Pikachu Mewtwo does not get the same respect from the board. That more has to do with contest history though. While he took advantage of SFF in 2008 to upset Squall and Sora his other two appearances were first round losses to Bowser and Ganondorf, nothing to be ashamed of, but both Pikachu and Charizard have been in upset mode over the past three years. Even in this contest Mewtwo is expected to fold with a respectable performance to Vincent next round yet Pikachu and Charizard are given paths that could potentially place them in the final 9. Not sure what to expect out of Zero. To the people that played the game they seem to like him, but the number of people that have played the game is quite small. Zero is lucky enough to be placed in a match where he can actually defeat someone as his game is at least known by people outside of Board 8. As exciting as it was to get a character from a game made by a member of our board in this contest Chester could potentially be the next Tanner. After the board vote he does not have much going for him, he does not have a cool name or picture nor does he look like a joke character, even anti-Pokemon votes are more likely to go Zero’s way though I guess Chester will benefit from a few. You need to be something special in order to be as weak as Tanner and while Chester has many qualities I believe he will not finish below Tanner when everything is over. For one the board vote will give him support, second he does not look like a generic male NPC which is almost needed to get to Tanner’s level and finally you need the right opponents so that you do not gain from anti-votes.
