Again, don't use Darkstalkers as a base for Morrigan. Don't make that mistake, people don't realize how much she's transcended her own series by how much Capcom's whored out over the years.

Personally, I just got a hard time buying that she can go from get 30% on Mario to losing to Edge/47 in a 10 year span when back then you could argue that not many people knew who she was. She's only gotten more exposure since then.

Mewtwo better outperform Link's percentage. Everything is set up that match for a killing similar to what SMB3 did in the first round of 2009, granted people could vote Zero thinking he is MMX Zero which would make Mewtwo look hilariously weak this match.

I think the (999) in parentheses and picture would mostly prevent that from happening

For what its worth: My first thought on that match was Edgeworth, and going purely based off of my own opinion I probably still think Edgeworth is going to win. That being said this is one of those matches where I saw enough people here saying Edgeworth had no chance that I eventually decided I was probably wrong and went with Morrigan in my bracket. I really don't know why people assume she has any strength whatsoever though to be honest.

Note that I am not claiming Edgeworth is anything other then fodder here, but I don't see why Morrigan should be considered as anything else either when she hasn't appeared in a contest 11 years and has to my knowledge only appeared in relatively niche fighting games.

Phoenix Wright is one of the few things B8 is obsessed about that I honestly don't get the appeal. I've tried to play the games before just because you guys love them so much, but I was bored to death.

She does seem to appear in every crossover Capcom is connected to, from niche JRPG ones like Cross Edge and Project x Zone to bigger ones like Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Shes had plenty of games in the last 11 years.

Analysis

Here is another heavily under seeded Final Fantasy VII character that is going to crush his competition. Sonic/Vincent has some hype and given Sonic’s excellent first round start it is time for Vincent to show if he has what it takes to win and that Final Fantasy VII is still as strong as ever.

KOS-MOS I feel is going to disappoint in this match. She has been slowly getting weaker each year and she failed to survive the vote-ins in 2010. Xenosaga is quickly becoming forgotten and had Shulk been in this place instead of Dunban I would seriously consider taking him for second place.

I am not expecting much out of the Xenoblade characters, especially from Dunban who I see to be the weakest out of the three characters. While Xenoblade performed well in the Game of the Year poll finishing in second place I think a lot of those votes came from people that heard how great the game was and how it should come to North America meaning it is unlikely those people have heard anything about the characters outside of maybe Shulk.

Vincent breaking 50% is quite possible, especially if KOS-MOS turns out to be weaker than from when we last saw her. Dunban’s performance will be used as a measuring stick to gauge Reyn and whether or not he has a chance at causing an upset in his match.

Am I the only one here who feels that Phoenix is benefiting from STF here?

Next match...I don't know why but I took a huge liking to Vincent when I first met him in FFVII. Same with Aeris.

Any fans of those two want to help me remember why I like them so much? I think the former's backstory really got to me and I was surprised that the latter wasn't some total saint.
