Depending on how close Marth makes this by the end of it, Phoenix possibly could've won a day match against him, too.

He's been surprisingly consistent since the freeze as well.

People actually played Tales of Vesperia. That's the difference.

I think Xenoblade Chronicles sold better than ToV -- at least in the U.S... Also, XC has a really solid fan base, and given that it's considered one of the greatest JRPGs of its generation, it's as popular here as it anywhere. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, but I feel like XC is being underrated.

I mean compared to Drakengard, not Xenoblade.

Pretty sure most of the board had no idea what Drakengard was before this contest, and if they did, it wasn't through firsthand experience with it.

Would Reyn really be as strong as Dunban? My theory is that Dunban will have the whole Auron thing going on and be stronger than anybody else in his game, including the lead.

Not that he stands much of a chance against KOS-MOS

I never hear anyone talk about Dunban though. It's always Reyn.

Not that it necessarily means anything.

Reyn gets talked about because he's funnier and has birthed one or two memes among the fanbase. Dunban is just an all-around great character. From what I can remember, he's way better than Auron.

I don't think Auron is that much stronger than everybody else in his game just because, though. Tidus, Yuna, even Rikku, they're all more divisive entities than the badass-looking, badass-talking, badass-fighting Auron. Who dislikes Shulk though? And Reyn? And unlike Tidus, Shulk doesn't look like a total fashion disaster, so it's not like Dunban has the edge of a coherent design over him like Auron does over his game's main character. I think it's safe to say Dunban is going to be the comfortably third best Xenoblade character in this bracket.

Shulk's boring though. Reyn is pretty cool; I'd definitely be voting for him in his match if I wasn't bracket voting (might do it anyway). Dunban is just awesome though, and is a much more compelling character. (But of course Dunban is doing the worst in this contest given the respective competition for each character).

KOS-MOS and Dunban could be interesting since it's (loosely) the same series and Dunban is the new blood. Could have people abandoning KOS-MOS to move on to the more currently relevant character.

I think Xenoblade is arguably more of a... hit? I don't want to use that word since it wasn't a huge financial success or anything, but it does have a better reputation.

It's really hard to say which Xenoblade character is the strongest, because they're all pretty awesome in their own way. Shulk's the protagonist with some actual development, Dunban's the experienced badass in the vein of Auron and Balthier, and Reyn's a much-more fleshed-out and likable sidekick with some meme power behind him.

Still perfect. I think that the next possibly hard match is The Boss, but I think that one is wrapped up too.

After that, I suppose Morrigan is the tough one. Though she'll probably win.

Well 28 of the 106 perfect gurus are getting it wrong.

So 300 means over 50% of the non-guru perfects are getting it wrong. That seems very high. The 30ish% total guru split seems more likely.

I don't know. On this site, I wouldn't be surprised if more people are familiar with Edgeworth and Ace Attorney than Morrigan and Darkstalkers.

I also wouldn't be surprised if pic factor gets her every vote from people that don't care about either (or Hitman).

Morrigan is rare in the sense that people know her more for her crossover appearances than her main series. One never has to play a DS game to know who she is these days, heck she's appearing in a good number of non-fighting games now (Namco x Capcom, Cross Edge, Project X Zone)
