suppose Layton could have been SFF'd by Isaac, but Reimu's enough
back-up proof to suggest bad things for Barret. Hope this is just the

match does give me hope Archer might have an outside chance of
finishing 2nd in his match if Bowser can SFF MetaKnight enough. This
shows you don't even need a localized game to get votes! |

This
is...strange. I initially expected that most of the other Oracles/Crew
would underestimate Reimu, but then I saw Oracles with higher
percentages than my own and people actually taking the over on a
double-digit spread so I was like "okay, maybe not". And then it turns
out that...yeah, they did, and I was right there among them! Is
racistFAQs seriously a thing? Because we already know Layton's weak and
Reimu's never even had a game come out in the USA. Getting 50% here

Maybe so, though it's not like Dracula's opponents are particularly proven either; Caim's a joke and all we know about Lucina is that she's probably stronger than Tharja. Yeah. So much for Marisa > Adam being an "upset pick". I was kind of counting on that one screwing people up. No, seriously, the X-Stats can more or less support this. Reimu's currently getting 41.9% on Layton. Plugging in the last known X-Stat values for both characters, JC Denton would be expected to get...40.93%. I don't really know what Adam's strength is expected to be compared to JC's but I wouldn't expect Marisa to really be any weaker than Reimu; she's pretty much shared "main character" status since almost the beginning of the series and has more memes in her corner. And that's big, because the memes are probably where Touhou gets a lot of its strength. I wouldn't expect the games themselves to be anywhere near as strong as the characters, and felt that way even before Reimu exceeded my expectations (at least so far). The way I see it, part of the appeal is that the canon gives the characters just enough characterization while leaving plenty of room for the fans to add in their own interpretations--and at times it seems like ZUN encourages them to do so. --- RIP GrapefruitKing and Emporer_Kazbar. I guess it could've told us that Barret would be the weakest FFVII character we've seen in a contest other than the Midgar Zolom (although it really was unfair what Bacon did to Zolom, putting him in Cloud's R1 fourpack), but even a weak FFVII party member is still an FFVII party member. As much as I'd probably be the first to jump on the "MASSIVE FINAL FANTASY DROP" train, this is about what I'd expect from bottom-tier FFVII playables, which that one bad poll nobody should use but is literally the only measure of Barret we have had in 11 years implied he is. doubt this is anti-votes. Barret doesn't really represent any of the
reasons why anti-FFVII people anti-vote FFVII. Although, there's always
been a whiff of jingoism to anti-FFVII/anti-jRPG sentiment to me, so
