Draven had 38.19% bracket support (5825 brackets). Based on that, Draven was probably the slight favorite over Jak and Chie.

No hero in any MOBA is more hated than Teemo.

Not even NA.

Techies is the hero that Riot ripped off to make Teemo, and he's 100x worse in that regard. Still love me some Techies and can't wait until they're ported to Dota 2

Guinsoo created Techies, not Icefrog. Guinsoo works for Riot.

And there's basically no similarity between Techies/Teemo, besides Techies' landmine and Teemo's poison shroom.

But the landmines are why both heroes are hated

Techies is just hated when you play against him. He's incredibly annoying and changes the game entirely. Playing as him is a blast.

From yesterday's day match:

Time | Hero | Rinoa | Aerith | Votes
0:05 | 24.02% | 21.15% | 54.83% | 487
1:00 | 26.82% | 22.10% | 51.09% | 5508
2:00 | 25.50% | 23.39% | 51.11% | 3827
3:00 | 25.69% | 23.69% | 50.62% | 3157
4:00 | 26.75% | 22.96% | 50.30% | 2849
5:00 | 26.51% | 22.88% | 50.61% | 2644
6:00 | 24.83% | 25.09% | 50.08% | 2646
7:00 | 24.41% | 24.11% | 51.48% | 2401
8:00 | 24.38% | 22.18% | 53.44% | 2178
9:00 | 24.86% | 24.30% | 50.84% | 1963
10:00 | 26.91% | 21.83% | 51.26% | 1828
11:00 | 25.94% | 22.76% | 51.29% | 1700
12:00 | 24.97% | 25.35% | 49.68% | 1558

Aerith bucks the trend for winning characters by having her last hour be her worst and her only sub-50% hour of the match. Instead it's Rinoa who finishes strong. She actually managed to win two hours against Hero! Both of them by less than 10 votes, but still. Moral victories...! Or not. Not a lot of fluctuation here considering it's two FF characters and a DQ character, so they should all have relatively similar trends.

X-Stats:

Aerith Gainsborough – 50.00%
Hero – 33.57%
Rinoa Heartilly – 31.33%

Aerith's prediction percentage was 70.91%, by the way. Seems kinda low, but I guess the low seed probably threw people off.

1:00 | 21.04% | 35.40% | 43.56% | 6079

7:00 | 49.94% | 23.96% | 26.11% | 3122
8:00 | 47.10% | 24.65% | 28.25% | 3087
9:00 | 45.31% | 25.13% | 29.57% | 3132
10:00 | 43.63% | 24.13% | 32.24% | 3083
11:00 | 43.55% | 22.34% | 34.11% | 3134
12:00 | 42.13% | 25.57% | 32.30% | 2820

I don't think any words need to be said. This one speaks for itself.

X-Stats:

Draven – 50.00%
Jak – 45.06%
Chie Satonaka – 39.42%

And just for cross-reference, here were the X-Stats at the peak of Jak's lead, before the rally:

Jak - 50.00%
Chie Satonaka - 43.92%
Draven - 33.41%

Draven's prediction percentage was 38.19%. Probably enough to be the overall favorite, depending on how much support Chie had.

I'm a little pissed off about the Draven thing. He was supposed to be a huge bust.

I went from a +6 Expert Bracket to a -6 score in the span of a few of hours. When Jak had that huge vote lead, I thought the thing was over. I have a Expert score of 18 now. I'm not sure if I'll be able to catch up anymore.

As for the Expert Challenge, I wouldn't worry to much yet, there is a potential for someone, even if their score is high, to have a huge point loss if a later match comes up incorrect, based on the point totals:

Round 1: 3, 2, 1
Round 2: 9, 6, 3
Round 3: 27, 18, 9
Round 4: 81, 54, 27
Round 5: 243, 162, 81

For instance, if a mistake is made in Round 3, it could be -27 -18 -9 = -54 Points.

Man sorry but I still don't believe it. Even after the morning vote when America was awake for the rallying Jak was still crushing in the US. Unless you're telling me reddit is primarily a European site if it was all rallying Draven should've started to come back in the US in the morning.

I believe there was a decent amount of rallying and it's in the site's best interest to have Draven advance for traffic, but yeah, no way was most of that legitimate.

C-O-N-spiracy! Anyway I'll shut up about this because I don't actually care about whether it was stuffing or not aside from being proven right, but I'm still saying I'm right, here! Now to do the math of whether 5000 stuffed votes + rallying can turn a match with a guy who's hanging around 10% in the poll.

Draven did start to come back in the USA. He increased his percentage by ~10%. I don't know. I still partially believe in Starcraft conspiracies* from 2004, but this seems legit to me. If you look at the region by region maps for Europe it seems pretty spread out. Every state in Germany has Draven with 60-80%. It's not just one. Rallying results in Europe are going to be much more extreme, since they have considerably less of a population. Especially in non-English speaking countries which are less likely to normally come to GameFAQS, and thus will see ralliers make up a much higher percentage of their voters.

*There are a series of matches in the first two divisions that year where one entrant suddenly starts gaining percentage halfway through the day and never lets up. And every one of them falls on a Sunday or Tuesday I believe.

Those percentage swings are so crazy, especially if you convert them to votals. Hour by hour it works out at roughly:

1:00 660
2:00 750
3:00 1400
4:00 1800
5:00 1800

That is just insane. 100% legit but insane nonetheless

A Touhou rally would be hilarious. It would never, ever succeed. But it would be hilarious.

Don't say no until it's game time. You know how I mentioned I planned to rally Draven with a bunch of other guys? One of them is a big, big, BIG touhoufan and he was one of the people organizing the Cirno rally. He's already told me he will put up topics in voile, pooshlmer and even japanese sites. It might not have nearly the same effect (the Touhou fanbase is like the exact opposite of LoL's, ultra dedicated and tiny), but we'll see.

Rallying one of the most popular online games in the world is easy. He probably would have been rallied even without you and your "crew" spending way too much time trying to influence a fan poll on a video game website.

I don't even know what a touhu is, and neither does 99% of the people that visit this site.

Bold prediction: Draven is totally getting his ass kicked next round by Ryu and MMX.

Without rallies, Draven is one of the weakest characters ever. With rallying, he got 40% against Chie and Jak.

He got 16000 votes, which seems like it could be enough to win, assuming that every one of those votes was from a die-hard LoL mindhive fanboy. But assuming he would have gotten 21% of the vote without the rallies, over 8,000 of those were non-rallied votes. He's going to lose a lot of those against two upper-midcarders compared to two jobbers. Imagine Draven/Ryu/X without any LoL rallies; he'd look like Tanner next to those guys.

The only way he can even manage 2nd is if the rallies are even bigger next time. He needs more than 8,000 bonus votes to kill even LFF'd Ryu/X.

That was a totally awesome match last night tho ^_^ had to use some willpower to tell myself not to stay up late.

We'll definitely try to make them bigger. I'm thinking we'll start the topics earlier in the week, maybe a couple days in advance. Possibly call for a Rioter to see if we can get an official 'vote for Draven today!' Twitter/Facebook endorsement. No idea if it'll work, but we sure as hell can try!

I don't even like Draven and had Jak in my bracket, but that was a great match to watch.

Score-Brackets-% Right
6--------2700------50.96
5--------5991------41.25
4--------4067------33.29
3--------1811------26.01
2--------529--------23.44
1--------124--------19.35
0--------32----------15.63

Rallying bailed out the top tiers here. The perfects and -1s were heavily in favour of Draven winning. Some of them may have been expecting the rally but I get the feeling many of them expected Draven to be able to win on his own power and were very wrong on that.

29 people fell off the Top 49. Former first place --Vanish--, former second place -hotdogturtle--, -NotoriousLynx, -Nu-, -Tofa7-, 11117Elements, 12Rouge, 2pac_Alypse_Now, 4thDeus, 592, 99Winters, a12340001, Aaantlion, Aalvi, abdou, aberwyn, ABlaster, abrack429, absolmedia, Abuses_J00, ace68128, acefool, Acended, AChirino24, ade214, ademasvincent, Admard, admirallupine and AdmiralSyrup did not have Draven winning.

Other things to consider.
- MMX/Ryu may be closer so Draven needs less to rally
- Rallying at that pace may not be sustainable
- Rallied people are more likely to vote for MMX/Ryu than Jak/Chie so more is required.

It's also worth noting that MMX and Ryu have much more active sites to go to for their own counter rally's. Maybe not the size of the LoL subreddit, but much larger than what Jak or Chie have.

Plus there is always 4chan to help with the process, where I would assume they would be more likely to vote for MMX or Ryu over Draven.

Nobody really likes Reimu, she's just the main character so that gets her airtime. Marisa and Cirno being here makes perfect sense (because one is the fan favorite, and the other is a little homeage to the contest's theme).

Out of curiosity, what would those sites be? I'm talking specifically sites for their games mind, not places like the chans or gaming forums. Something like Shoryuken working for Ryu I can see, but I've never heard of big Megaman forums.

The English Touhou fanbase has never really shown much interest in Character Battle like contests involving anime characters. I doubt they will care that much about our contest. 2ch isn't going to care about our contest either.

MMX, I actually don't have any clue. I'm sure there are some, somewhere in the part of the web.

It isn't going to be anything near the size that LoL can provide, but my point is it's much larger than a Jak and Daxter forums or something. You just need something to mitigate the damage. Something that Jak and Chie couldn't provide, because they are simply too small.
