the hell happened

Minor rallying to put him ahead of Chie + Jak had thousands of stuffed votes removed.

GameFAQS contests will never be the same again if this keeps up across the bracket.

Draven's rally strikes me as precisely the same kind of thing that turns me off of contests from sites like Gamespot or G4. The same cannot be said of things like L-Block or StarCraft, although I wasn't here for those.

Jesus, this topic went to s*** really quickly when the comeback started. It's hard to decide who looks stupider, the people crying over LoL winning and calling it cheating, or the LoL idiots who won't shut up about how great their game and community is and how Link is now doomed.

A more on-topic thought: those Europe percentages are insane, I shouldn't be surprised, since LoL and Dota are so popular in Europe, but I really didn't expect any rally to be this big in round 1. I don't think this comeback happens in a day match, although the morning US vote might prove me wrong.

Oh yeah, Starcraft. Probably was criminally underseeded back then in the first place.

Of course I stupidly thought Kerrigan would have been a serious player, oh goodness I was wrong.

Jak didn't have votes removed, he's pulling your leg.

But yes, Draven came back from over 2500 votes which we think is the biggest comeback ever.

Oh, did Bacon/DM mention something? Didn't hear anything about Jak being vote stuffed.

Also, at least ExTha chose to have a meltdown during Snake/Sephiroth. Though if Kanz is representative of the LoL community, then they probably are all douchebags. They likely aren't, though, and I'm sure Kanz is an exception and most of the people are pretty chill.

On one hand, this is the kind of stuff that dominated the Gamespot contests, so it makes me wary. On the other hand, if there's no vote stuffing involved it's still legit and it's not like there's been rallies I didn't love before (Mario/Cloud, L-Block's 2007 run), so I can't b**** about this. I'd have preferred a Jak win, of course, but hey, if this is legit, kudos for Draven for making one of the biggest and most impressive comebacks in contest history. This is definitely a nice shake up that'll put later matches up to question.

Are there enough gamers to boost a disgruntled Mega Man to beat Link in hopes Capcom will love him again?

OK, that makes more sense then...

I think this is fun. I mean if it was proxy vote cheating nonsense, augh, that would suck. But this seems like a genuine, fanbase-inspired rally. That's what these contests are all about.

Now if Draven actually manages to finish ahead of guys like Ryu or X, I will definitely be annoyed by that. But a huge rally in a completely and utter blowout match...I mean a rally of this magnitude...it's unprecedented, and I don't see how it doesn't add fun to the contest.

Absolutely no one here would have thought a rally like this would be possible on GameFAQs. It was always thought such things were limited to Gamespot and such sites, that nothing large scale could matter on GameFAQs because the vote totals were too big.

A huge twist like this is pretty neat. I mean considering the opposition anyway...as I said, if Draven starts doing this to legit characters, the hilarity will wear off quick.

Really?

I mean, L-block was funny, and a pretty iconic character when all is said and done. I'm not sure LoL fans actually care about Draven, let alone anyone else. Do you really want this guy to win?

Not going to happen though, yeah this is crazy but not enough to take Link, not even close, and I suspect people will be fed up after this match with the guy. I do wonder if he could take round 2 though.

Edit: Also, Tharja would beat Yuri pretty easily. Juliet would probably beat Yuri pretty easily. However, Yuri's still getting second because the difference between those two BL2 entrants is that people actually care about one of them, and I'm not sure most people who played BL2 will be able to say who Face McShooty actually is.

How much overlap is there between Ryu and X? If that's a close match up and the LoL rally comes again, I'd probably put money on Draven.

Also, that match will also be during the night, and Europe is not kind to the Mega Man series at all. It gets absolutely destroyed there. Ryu doesn't suffer as much there from what i can tell, but even so, those factors give more small advantages to him, and it might be enough.

My personal pick for "best" winner based on a combination of how much I like the character and what their chance of actually winning is is Solid Snake. He'd be a great winner.

I dislike repeat champs because it's a bit boring. Literally anyone could win every year and I'd be happy with it as long as they didn't recently win a contest already. I like variety.

Honestly more than the message Greyfeld is giving the most embarrassing thing is that this is what causes a man to snap? A random 1 point match between 3 fodders? Unless you're president of the Official Jak Fanclub of America I don't see what the huge deal is here!

Rather than making sweeping assumptions, why don't you ask for clarification of my stance if you don't understand it? Or is it just easier and more convenient to assume that I'm an idiot and keep the circlejerk going?

Why don't you justify yourself, whiny boy? Your position was summed up succintly before as 'new people don't deserve to vote'. Correct that, then. And don't give us crap about 'skewing predictions' and ****. Explain to us why people randomly deciding to take to the site and vote are worth more than people told to go there and vote, who still have freedom to choose between characters as they like. Go on, whiner. We're all ears.

Oh c'mon Greyfeld, stop being a whiny little loser already. It's been what, years and you've been the same in multiple sites? Nobody gives a damn. Man up already.

It's a rare day when literally Kanzaris has to step forward to call someone out and lay the smackdown, yeah. On the plus side, if he's gone, nothing of value will be lost!

There's a ton of idiots, but there's a ton of idiots everywhere. Look at Greyfeld, sharing space with guys like you, Rad Link, Ulti, XIII and all the others. Likewise, for all those idiots, LoL has guys like FD, Red13n, JC, and a ton of other good people, and that's without even getting into the many high-level players who crank out all the content for us scrubs to digest and learn. The only communities made up of mostly nice people are the dead ones, and LoL is full of great guys.

Though I'm being biased and included some of his comments to Greytears, who deserved to be mocked. And of course this doesn't include all the arrogant statements about how LoL players cure cancer with their love for Draven. I can only fit so much into one post.

e: The summary is that Kanz is taking this s*** just as seriously as Greytears, thinking he's done a great thing because he made a couple posts informing people about a rally-intensive character being in a match with Chie and Jak, thus thinking he's scored a huge victory for League of Legends. Thus the hilarious ego trip he's on, causing him to act over-the-top arrogant without really realizing what an ass he's looking like right now.
