Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 1061

I'm conflicted here. On one hand, of the realistic outcomes, this one helps my Expert Challenge the most, "merely" being a -2. On the other, Draven getting exposed and getting knocked back down to the turbo-fodder levels of 3rd place would be the most hilarious outcome outside a surprise Chie rally that puts this one to shame.

Kanz stuffing confirmed.

This is absurd. Draven goes from pathetic to great. Rallying, even if this isn't stuffing, should be banned. Yesterday it was okay due to equal rallies on both sides, but this is just too much.

I would have expected rallies like this when it came time to vote for the Minecraft characters. I thought the LoL fans who didn't care for Draven would stay away.

You don't get it. I don't think any of you dudes get it. This isn't about Draven (though he's a top tier League character who's ****in' FULL of style and coolness). This is about League. This is about the biggest game in the world, the best company in the world, and believe it or not, the best community in the world. This is people who love the world's biggest game coming out in full force to ****ing REPRESENT. This is something else. This, ladies and gentlemen, is League of Legends.

DOTA 2 > League, right?

No. DOTA 2 is a crappy bandwagoner, the result of a company with too much money on their hands trying to ride RIOT's gravy train without understanding just how hard they worked to get there, and a game that just won't die and go away because too many people are stuck in the past and too groggy to change. League is, if you'll excuse the pun, LEAGUES beyond DOTA. And you're seeing how now. You'd never get Traxex or Chen or Tiny or Leoric or whoever I don't give a **** rallied this way, because effort matters. Being real matters. Becoming more than a game, an experience matters. This is why Draven is winning now, and I know I just took the bait but I don't care. GO DRAVEN!

But Dota 2 has Steam Trading Cards, and League doesn't. Have you not heard the news that Steam Trading Cards are the new TF2 hats?

Incidentally, funny thing guys, you know why this is happening? Timing. Perfect ****ing timing here and now. See, just around this time, news of a Draven rework got released. For those that don't play LoL, he was an overwhelmingly powerful lane bully early in the game who nobody could beat. So they took away his broken passive ability and gave him a new one. And the new ability's name?

League of Draven. It couldn't possibly have come at a better time, goddamn.

No and I don't care. Superfans never swing ****, except when they move the silent majority to action. This is why the Waluigi rally flopped and Draven is succeeding even though they're similar characters (sans Draven being ten times as godlike). People on the LoL forums are not talking because they don't give enough of a **** to talk, they will just vote and move on. And because we love League and we love its company (which makes a difference - WoW people aren't attached to WoW and Blizzard, League people ARE), we vote for our man.

Against these two jobbers? L, Persona has sold like 100k copies total for Persona 4 and maybe half that for Golden (and half were repeat buys). I said basically 0, ngirl. As in, they might be gaining a vote or two every update but yeah. Draven's up ~120 from his normal intake and Jak/Chie aren't up by any noticeable amount. I don't think that's happened in any legitimate rally before. Usually all entrants increase a little and the rallied one increases a lot more.
