I might even play DQV if it has a big amazon price drop again. The P3&4 silent protagonist trio are my favorite silent protagonist, but then again there aren't a whole lot I really care about anyways.

Nah, I'm not really that big of a Borderlands fan. Don't get me wrong, I like the games, but it's more that Tina was one of my favorite characters from 2012. And I wanted to look smart in the bracket/guru for taking her.

The best silent protagonists are P3 MC and Amaterasu imo. Disclaimer I have not played any of the Dragon Quest games though.

Hero just isn't a character from an old and niche game. He's a symbol of times of glory past. He's a tribute to the solemn hero, a testament of what we could be at our best. He reminds us of what we would be like if we similarly donned a white robe and a blue headscarf and ventured out in the world to fight evil, armed with nothing but a blade carved entirely from wood. He is proof of the human spirit, the innate good in all of us.

He is....the hero in all of us.

Yeah like, I hope this raises awareness for DQV and its Hero. Like, sincerely an amazing character from an even more amazing game from a story telling perspective. One of the great tragedies of the 90s is Enix didn't bring this game over. It belongs with CT and FF6 as big headline SNES RPGs.

Absolutely. They chose 7th Saga to bring over instead (idiots). I would go as far to argue that DQ peaked with 5, and it's been kind of downhill since.

Rallied so hard last night for Tina, but it just fell short. #2 post on r/borderlands, #7 post on r/borderlands2. Got a link posted here too: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tiny-Tina/461805067171803. At the end I was trying to go into a couple Twitch streams and talk about it, but I don't think that helped. Oh well.

I guess maybe without any of that, Tharja just slowly gains throughout the entire night. Who knows. I had fun though. Sorry Tina, we almost did it!

I'm a FE fan and voted Tharja last night, but this type of rallying is cool. Going to bat for your favorite character and gathering support for them is a great part of the contest. Shame your rally fell just short.

Also, I was really worried about my Shepard/Aeris pick until right now. At this point, I think it will be very close.

And even if Hero does give up 2nd place to Riona, this is the most unexpected/impressive performance of the contest so far, narrowly edging Tiny Tina's night surge. Tiny Tina was supposed to get last, some gave her credit and even picked her. Hero was given almost no chance at second despite Final Fantasy LFF. Today is a good day for Sir Chris!
