I would say this match erased all concerns of a non-Smash Fire Emblem character upsetting Dracula. Ain't happening.

And I haven't completely given up on Chrom... it just... doesn't look good. I can't really believe Tiny Tina is stronger than Nathan Drake, which is what I have to believe if Chrom is going to beat The Boss.

The Boss is fodder. These three are also fodder mind you but yeah I couldn't see The Boss getting 50% on any 3-way this side of Guybrush + Ryo Hazuki

I guess I'll be the odd one, but I think that Lucina could win her match with relative ease.

Chrom on the other hand is doomed...nintenDOOOOMED

Why, Castlevania did very well in the series contest and he happens to be the most recognizable character from it and OUTSIDE of it.

Call me crazy, depending on his performance, i might take him over Barret.
#405 | swordz9 | Posted 7/11/2013 8:36:22 AM | message detail
Lucina could still potentially look better just due to being a character who matters in the game. Tharja's popular, but she basically has no focus at all while Lucina is pretty much a main character.

Tiny Tina being stronger than 2010 Nathan Drake is pretty likely actually. PS3 still wasn't quite fully accepted at that point. Keep in mind in 2008 he lost to CATS.

I'm stoked for Lucina/Dracula. The quotes are gonna be a blast.

"But enough talk. Have at you!"

Tiny Tina doesn't need to defeat Nathan, Chrom would easily win over Tharja.

That's my thought process. Not saying they'll win, but I got a hard time buying Chrom & Lucina being on the same level as Tharja. Heck, those topics on the FE:A board someone mentioned earlier suggest that some would not have voted Tharja if there was a better option.

Dunno if The Boss can be concerned fodder (partially because I don't know exactly what that term has evolved into). She beat Drake in a day match, she scored over 46% on Cube, and quite a few years ago, she avoided the doubling against Zelda, which doesn't put her too far behind the likes of Ezio (and the Zelda that Boss faced in 2008 was possibly stronger than the one Ezio faced in 2010).

If Boss is fodder, I'd favor her among the top echelon of such characters - somewhere around where a new "fodder line" would be established.

I mean Lucina and Chrom could still look worse due to having stronger opponents in their matches, but if this was Lucina/Juliet/Tina I think Lucina would be winning by a lot more than Tharja currently is.

In a standard 64 entrant bracket she wouldn't really

I mean the odds of her getting a garbage opponent would be lower because there'd be less garbage in the field. Obviously the Vyse/Laharl type matches would still exist once in a while, that's what it means to be the gatekeeper of the fodder line, but yeah.

Why? Fodder is fodder. Just because fodder can win because there's more foddery fodder going against it doesn't change that fact. Fodderdom is more "how badly are Link or Mario going to maim you if you get stuck with them" than inability to win matches. Kyo freakin Kusanagi won a match before-- anyone can win a match given the right opponent!

This match getting over 30,000 votes is actually pretty good. There were a lot of matches with a lot stronger opponents in the RR that couldn't get that number. Of course, this is also in a better time of the year for votals, but still.
