Get her supports with the Avatar (whether male of female)

I've gotten at least the first one with my male avatar. Already got an S-rank with another female though, so I'll have to wait for the next playthrough to finish it. I'm going to assume the dialogue doesn't change with Tharja regarding gender, yes?

I'm amazed at how few people are giving Tiny Tina a shot. She doesn't have to be as strong as Claptrap to win her match. I have Tharja, but I'm worried about Tiny Tina, not Juliet. I expect Juliet to be massively more popular with people who don't come to Gamefaqs.

I would have had more faith in Juliet last year when he game was out, everyone was aware of her and especially with Suda51's association.

Today, Lollipop Chainsaw hasn't even become a cult game by any means.

I'm also more worried about Tina than most seem to be, but I don't know a thing about Borderlands. I don't even know if Tina is a relatively important character to the main story or if she's DLC-only (her name seems to be tied to some DLC). If it's the latter, than I suppose it's no big deal. If it's the former, though, then she does have what is easily the strongest game in the poll backing her up.

I'm definitely not counting Tiny Tina out since she's from the Game of the Year of 2012

it's just that her reception is rather mixed but who knows if it's just a few people that don't like her

She was released with DLC. I'm not sure if it's the same one with her name in it or not, but I picked up BL2 a while back and she wasn't part of the starting lineup.

No % of correct picks per match but at least we have the number of brackets that got matches right listed as stats. Doing the math I got the following for 15,254 brackets submitted.

Link/Isaac/Tingle - 97.59%
Raiden/Waluigi/Alan Wake - 75.27%
Yoshi/Solaire/Demi-Fiend - 83.77%

I really, really don't know about the next match
If it was Borderlands 2 VS Lolipop Chainsaw,Borderlands 2 would win with 70% or something
If it was any major character from Borderlands 2(Vault Hunters,Clatptrap,Handsome Jack) they would beat Juliet so easily
But since this is Tiny Tina, that about half of Borderlands 2 fans hate her,I really doubt

i also don't think the latest DLC will give her any kind of boost - casuals players (which are..alot) only played the main story and don't bother with DLC....so only about 10%? of BL2 gamers got the fourth dlc I believe

While we're posting more PROOF I sorta recently posted a poll at the Lollipop Chainsaw PS3 board

WHile it's a much smaller "sample" of people than the results we could get on the Awakening or Borderlands 2 boards it's still something

Here's a surprise X-Factor to consider for tonight's match: Two Best Friends Play has a Lollipop Chainsaw video and it has over a million views...! Plus, Matt is a big fan of Jessica Nigri (the girl who portrays Juliet), so yeah.

LPers deciding matches, perhaps LMS was a harbinger of the fall all along.

Just thought I'd mention they added a little graph to the bottom of the leaderboard page showing how many people have what scores. It is a bit more difficult to interpret then in previous years, and I still can't find anything about how many people got each match correct, but it is a start at least.

Oh right, trend chart for the night match:

Time | Yoshi | Solaire | Demi | Votes
0:05 | 65.57% | 22.00% | 12.43% | 909
1:00 | 62.02% | 23.56% | 14.42% | 6066
2:00 | 61.47% | 24.04% | 14.49% | 3382
3:00 | 58.55% | 25.93% | 15.52% | 2603
4:00 | 55.73% | 27.33% | 16.94% | 2049
5:00 | 56.10% | 26.95% | 16.96% | 1722
6:00 | 56.54% | 27.85% | 15.61% | 1537
7:00 | 58.54% | 25.99% | 15.48% | 1693
8:00 | 58.23% | 28.51% | 13.26% | 1968
9:00 | 60.52% | 25.23% | 14.25% | 2287
10:00 | 60.28% | 25.43% | 14.29% | 2379
11:00 | 62.50% | 22.59% | 14.91% | 2408
12:00 | 62.85% | 21.90% | 15.25% | 2393

Trend-wise, this is pretty much what you would expect. Strong board vote and Power Hour for Yoshi, who then dies off during the night and comes back strong in the morning. He also continues the trend of the winning character finishing the match with his strongest hour. Also to no one's surprise, Solaire and Demi-Fiend are strongest at night.

X-Stats:

Yoshi – 50.00%
Solaire of Astora – 29.39%
Demi-Fiend – 19.95%

In 2004 Kain would likely have beaten Olimar. Olimar would lose by a decent bit to guys like Wario or Marth.... right? I don't think this bodes that well for Shephard.

Referring back to Gordon Freeman vs. Tina Armstrong (Tina won with 60%, who got more than triple by Aeris, suggesting TJF against Gordon), I'm guessing Juliet will do pretty well tomorrow. If Juliet scores a distant last, though, then I might be obligated to say that Gordon really WAS that weak in 2002.

I'm not banking. One reason is that I'm already behind, another reason is that the first round can make or break your chances at winning. Sure there will be a couple more debatable matches in round 2 & 3, but by the time we reach the late rounds we should be able to get a clear picture of how the strong characters will play out.

Then you just have to risk it on the chance of a Link upset in the final round.

With these votals, my tiebreaker looks pretty bad. Hopefully, votals will go up in later rounds as usual and there'll be some rallying for Snake/Cloud and then rallying for Link later in the match so that my tiebreaker will still look decent.

Not that it matters very much.

Well, the later rounds are gonna last an entire day, right? Hopefully the vote total picks up when the more contested matches start.

On another subject, go Hero. The 3-way split is exactly the type of situation that could benefit a character with such a generic name, creating a fad effect for non-FF fans while the FF fanbase splits the vote (in Aerith's favor, naturally). I still remember how L-Block won an entire tournament due to how generic it was.

L-Block won because it was a joke vote magnet. Hero, not so much.

The Final Fantasy series is just so much stronger than Dragon Quest that I have no doubt that Hero will have to fight tooth and nail just to come in last. Voters will go with Aerith or Rinoa based on whether they prefer FF7 or FF8, then the diehard DQ fans will watch Hero drown in a pool of his own tears.

So, here's the thing about Tharja:

- She's from a 3DS game.
- She's a random party member from said game... in a huge ensemble cast.
- She's popular, but this also makes the already small FE:A audience be quite divided on whether they love or hate her.
- Even in NintendoFAQs, how many people who haven't played FE:A know Tharja? Really now. Nintendrones can't just pick the Nintendo option since they won't even know who the Nintendo option is.

Meanwhile, nobody knows Juliet and everybody knows BL2... but nobody actually likes Tina. I dunno, I feel like this match will literally be decided by something silly like TJF or who looks cooler in the picture because none of these characters are worth anything.

Borderlands might be popular, but just how popular is it on Gamefaqs? That's the real question. It doesn't really strike me as the sort of game that gains widespread appeal on a website that heavily favors Nintendo and JRPGs.
