There
were over 90000 nominations for Character Battle 2010 and it took 196
noms to avoid the vote-ins. Rivalry Rumble had only 14811 nominations.
Assuming everything is proportional, it would have only taken 32

Yup
it took 196 to avoid the Vote Ins in 2010, but that was out of 90,000
total nominations. Rivals 2011 managed only a pathetic 15,000
nominations and we're closer to that pace right now- so if you can get

In the case of Rivalry Rumble, a front page link was put up within the first 6 hours of nominations and it still only got 6049 nominations in the first 24 hours. Ehhh
I wouldn't really say "changed his mind"... when he was guesting on The
Show I put him on the spot so Lugia was more of a spur of the moment
idea he was leaning towards. I'm fine with him giving it more thought
and deciding to take it in a different direction, and since he did so
within a day of the form going up I think almost everyone will see it

Wouldn't
surprise me to see Charizard beat Crono, Mega Man, or Sonic, but I
think they're vulnerable to a few near elites in general, not just the

While
LMS's reasoning there seems silly, a Chrono Trigger vs. MGS2 match
might not be too far off from the rivalry rumble result. MGS3 got 42.3% on Majora's Mask and Raiden/Vamp got 43.87% on Frog/Magus. If MGS3 ~ MGS2 (as the Shadow of the Colossus matches indicate) and you're not sure if Chrono Trigger could beat the Game of the Decade winner, you're already pretty close! --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |

this logic, Alucard would obliterate post-Rising Raiden because he beat
Magus/Frog, which is ludicrous thinking. Rivalry Rumble is basically on
the fourways tier of accuracy. PS: Incidentally, is anybody else giving Raiden a nom? I'm super interested in how he does now that he has his own game. We might see a significant rise in strength from him. |

Wouldn't
be hugely surprised if Charizard beat Crono. He did about 3% worse
than Crono did on Bowser in 2006, and maybe 1/2 a percent worse than
what Crono got on Mario in 2005. Granted, 2005/6 were better years for
the Mario crew. Since 2008, Crono looked around his 2006 strength
(better than the abysmal 2007). But there's been a lot of time, and the
voterbase has changed a lot. Would probably predict Crono with 52%,

And
yes, high 50s seems about right for CT against MGS2. CT would have
close matches (within 53/47, maybe a lot closer) with SSBM/B, MM, and
FFX after all. Not that Frog v. Raiden is a great way of measuring

Raiden/Alucard. For the first time in years, Alucard has games again.

Second pic is fine. I had no problem when KoolAid used it for Squall/Auron. First pic is bad but in the context of that pic all the pics are bad so it's fine. It was bad when Zen made a deliberately bad pic JUST for Squall and everyone else was fine. Still not the worst pic he's ever done though. 48 hours, we now have 8933 nominations. Nominations have slowed down
significantly in the last 24 hours, after originally getting 7134
nominations in the first 24 hours. We got only 1799 nominations in the

Letting
Board 8 control the nominations is not good for most of the Noble Nine
(except for Crono). Could you imagine characters like Link, Mario, and
Cloud not getting a 1 seed? That could literally happen if most of the
users on this site have no idea that nominations are taking place. A
front page link would at least counter Board 8 controlling the

that there's already more than half the total nominations of the last
