sure Allen has to add them manually. I know they aren't added
automatically when they get a certain number of noms, unless it's been

So I've checked to see what characters are missing from the 2007 and 2008 contest. Looks like the full list wasn't saved on the wiki, but I talked about it on the page discussing our 2010 Board 8 noms. http://board8.wikia.com/wiki/Board_8%27s_2010_Nominations#Suggestion_List_Info The list started with 244 names and that was everyone from 2007+ 2008 along with some 2008 rallies that didn't quite make the cut, plus a few more that SB added himself before getting any input. He input some more during the first 48 hours of nomination to reach a total of 255. Yeah,
Lugia is the much better pick. It doesn't affect me either way as I
didn't enter the guru last year, but Yuri got absolutely flattened by
Tifa, who isn't even Noble Nine. Lugia could be pretty good and we've
never had a Gen II rep before. I definitely urge SuperNiceDog to
reconsider. Ultimately the choice is his, but think Yuri may be a

It's possible he lost the list as a result of GameFAQs moving over to the AWS servers. In fact, it was the Trainers vs. Cloud/Sephiroth match that had several minutes worth of votes deleted from the database when GameFAQs was moved over to AWS. So that match was showing incorrect results and SBAllen had to correct the final result. Also, the current nomination total is at 6639. I spoke with SB about this, he said "Characters are added whenever they reach a threshold of entries - no sense in adding them if nobody's suggesting them manually." Which is a LOAD OF JUNK in my opinion. If I were an average B8er who had just tried to add Bidoof but found he wasn't in the system despite all 300 other previous entrants being there, I'd think SB must have removed him for a reason. Then I'd think, no sense in wasting a slot, and pick someone else instead. Plus seeing a name in the suggested list often reminds you of a character you hadn't thought of, and you end up nomming them. This is the same logic he used to kick out Mario/Sonic. "Mario/Bowser got over twice as many nominations, so clearly that's the choice that GameFAQs prefers!" Yeah but you never added Mario/Sonic as an option so how many hundreds of users assumed that option was banned and picked something else? Most of those characters are turbo fodders that will probably never get enough nominations to even get close to a vote-in poll. I'd guess the number will be lower this year as long as it's still 128 characters.
