I've been out of the loop for the past 5 years. But, compare Mario and Link in these polls. http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2920 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3300 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3854 1.64 ratio for the former in 2007. 1.86 ratio in 2008....and the ratio goes up to 1.97 in Link/Samus/Mario/MMX. 1.82 ratio in Winter 2010. 2008 and 2010 align very well... they're close enough for us to say Link/Mario behaved correctly even after accounting slightly different calculations between 2-way/4-way. But, it seems like a big enough difference with the 2007 contest to demand an explanation. Besides lol-ing at 4-ways and x-stats. Did Mario weaken, or what? Even though x-stats don't suggest Mario decreased materially, it seems like a possibility. Or, maybe Mario just had a Galaxy boost in 2007. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those! just realized something that probably hinders Nintendo's popularity on
this site from now on (well, as far as new releases are concerned):
Nintendo will probably never build up much hype for a game ever again.
Those of you disappointed with TP and Brawl for some strange reason I
don't understand will probably be happy, but GameFAQs users in general
will probably therefore never find themselves hyped much for a new
Nintendo release until Nintendo actually decides to announce a game a

Nintendo announces the new Smash Bros. with Mega Man or Cloud or

how I view it as well. I imagine we'll get a contest announcement
before the end of March. I have to assume Bacon wants to run this
contest before E3 starts so the contest does not interfere with E3

Sometimes
the parents will choose which games are OK to buy but the kid will
still pay for it from his/her allowance or work. That's how it used to

Uh... how? Why would I charge when I can just use my debit card and directly use the money I actually have? Exactly. Why would I want to spend my own money when I don't have to? With a lot of credit cards you get a bonus amount of rewards points/cashback too, but even without that, the ability to delay payment for a month makes credit cards better. Using
money that you don't have is a terrible habit, and what's the
point/benefit of delaying a payment? by the time that payment is due you
may have had an emergency and find that you don't have the money that
you did a month ago. With debit cards I always have control and never
make a purchase unless I know my budget allows it. You don't use money you don't have, you merely delay the payment. For example, I could have the money invested in the stock market earning 9% a year on average in the meantime. With a credit card I can keep my money invested during that extra month during which the credit card is interest free, producing a return for me. And emergencies are another advantage for credit cards over debit cards. With a credit card, if I have an emergency, I can get it taken care of. If later I can't pay for it, the CC company is out the money, not me. Now, I'll have to pay a big penalty for it in interest and maybe worse credit, but that's a whole lot better than not having the money to cover an emergency, isn't it? The last thing I want to happen is to have a serious emergency and no money to take care of it. It's

don't have a credit score to begin with. Also, this site's average age

From: LeonhartFour | #382 And it's not hard to get a credit card at all if you're an adult, seriously. It might be a challenge to get one without an annual fee. It took me a couple of tries. Banks and lenders are much more cautious about everything now, and that might (and probably does) include offering fee-less credit cards to adults with no credit history. |

on Fire Emblem dominating? Granted, there's little competition besides
another MGS game, but between fan hype and its great reviews I could see

Fire
Emblem has a lot of space to boost from. The games (and series) never
did well in contests, and we've never seen an FE character in who didn't
draw a significant amount of strength from Smash. Not that you can draw anything from this poll other than 'a lot of people are hyped for Fire Emblem for the 3DS', but I wouldn't be surprised if Fire Emblem got a major boost and all it really does is add one more Fire Emblem character to the 'not quite fodder' list. --- http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh293/zukiraphaera/war-sig-1.png |
