I'm
glad if both games made them money. I love Capcom and the last thing I
want to see is them shelving the RE series because of poor sales. More
than anything else, though, I'm still confused and miffed that they'd
put (what appears to be) their biggest traditional-style RE in years on a

CoD > Mario result took place before the Mario series became big on

Because if anything, I'd argue it hurt CoD more. I'm wrong all the time, and heck, I'd rather be wrong in this case because the Mario Galaxy games are the best Mario games ever, so if they were stronger than they've looked outside of GOTY polls, then I'd be happy. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." I was just looking at that "Game of the '00s" poll we had after GOTY
2009, and I was thinking it'd be really fun if we had a "Game of the
'10s" poll after this between Mass Effect 2, Skyrim, and Borderlands 2. I'd be kinda surprised if the ordering was anything but Skyrim > ME2 > Borderlands 2, but the percentages would be fun to look at. Someone should suggest it to Bacon. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." is stronger. Borderlands is probably equal to BL2. AC2 destroys AC3.
you said Arkham Asylum. SF4 and UC2 have probably grown. MW2 fell off
but that's not a big deal. Dragon Age weakened, yeah, but it's still not

dont think that Pokemon would even be threatening Mass Effect 3 in this
poll. Take a few games like Last Story and Tales of Graces out of the

Yikes,
tough change of pace for ME3. It went from beating Xenoblade by 2.79%
to currently losing it it by 5.29%. To compare with the few other times
we've seen places switched in the GotY-polls... --> Mario Kart DS lost to GoW by 1.95% before taking second place in the final-GotY by 0.69%. Total difference: 2.64% --> SSBB lost to MGS4 by 1.08% before winning the final-GotY by 2.3% and tie-breaker with 52.1% (4.2%). Total difference: 3.38% to 5.18% ...so Xenoblade > ME3's easily the biggest switch we've seen to date with 8.08%. Borderlands 2 is just the popular favorite this year? It did win G4's
contest, and is winning here, so what other conclusion do I have to

Borderlands
2 is definitely far more popular than Borderlands. And the Borderlands

Unless the original Borderlands has grown stronger since 2010 when it got 70/30'd by FFX, that would say terrible things about the state of this year of gaming. I'd be kinda surprised if the two games were on the same level though. I think this would be like saying "Mass Effect is probably equal to Mass Effect 2" after ME2 won GOTY. BL2
isn't a game of the generation type game like ME2 was. it's just more
Borderlands. which is good - that game has gotten consistently more
popular over time. but it's not bigger than AC2 or Batman. BL2 isn't
popular just because it beat ME3. most people forgot that it existed

don't see anything wrong with Borderlands 2 beating Arkham Asylum or

we will most likely end up with a "System of the Year" poll, like we
have every single year for the GotY polls. This time around, I wonder
if the Wii will even be an option in this poll considering how much
GameFAQs has abandoned the system and the fact that we got the Wii U
less than 2 months ago. I think the Wii will be an option in tomorrow's

I have to think that the Wii U would win over the Wii. The PS2 is seen by some users as being the greatest system of all time and the PS2 was still receiving lots of support at the time the PS3 was released. in the System of the Year 2005 poll, the PS2 got 35.08%. One year later, PS2 got 13.90% when you introduce the PS3 into the poll. Feels odd seeing Twilight Princess on there since I always saw it as a GCN game, but it did release on Wii first. Though I wonder if SBAllen is going to repeat this poll next year to include 2013 or if he considers the Wii U launching to be the mark of the end of this generation.
