GameFAQs Contests
Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 1049
I
know Allen insists that traffic is better than ever but that Google
explanation does not sound right to me..and all traffic tracking sites
like Alexa and Compete show a steady and steep decline in traffic for
GameFAQs from its peak in 2008, which corresponds with the decline in
votals. --- ... |
Here's the topic where he posted about the traffic being higher now than in 2008: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/573081-hellhole/63671751 Also, here's another good post from him: SBAllen posted... Alexa is one of the worst possible metrics that you can use to actually judge a website's traffic. It doesn't track mobile traffic at all and even regular traffic is mostly calculated using their Toolbar. Just trust me when I assure you that our traffic has gone up on a yearly basis. :) --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |
Luster apparently has to post all of that every time someone mentions low vote totals. --- Leonhart posting from his phone |
I
know it's been discussed before, but I was responding to someone who
most likely did not know anything about the reasons behind the low vote
totals. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |
Xenogears poll brings in more votes than game of the year Xenogears for GOTY 2012 --- xyzzy |
What a depressing poll *votes last option* It's a little bit of both. As much as I wanna be with someone I'm better off alone. I'm a hot mess right now --- This space reserved for the next GameFAQs Contest! NP: I am PERFECTION |
I
am tracking poll updates for today's poll because I know it has some
interesting trends based on the same poll from 2010 and 2012. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |

Tomorrow's poll - Have you ever been in love? Like with today's poll, I expect tomorrow's poll to have some interesting trends, so I will be tracking poll updates for that one too. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |

Trend charts for yesterday's poll: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AgBWiYjlMLwYdE5IYUdrTzVCUUhUS3JMRTQ5UVlpWkE&gid=3 The "Married" option started off the poll with a terrible early vote and Power Hour. Starting from the beginning of the poll, the "Married" option had 5 straight hours below 9% before it started doing better near the end of the night vote. Overall, it had a terrible night vote. The "Married" option dominated the morning vote easily, with 3 straight hours of 16-17% near the beginning of the morning vote. It did drop off slightly during the later part of the morning vote. When the ASV started, the "Married" option collapsed. However, during the middle part of the ASV (after 5:10 PM), the "Married" option started going up again. This is another example of the "After Work Vote" kicking in. The "Married" option continued to go up in percentage as we headed into the SNV. "Yes, we're serious" had a terrible early vote and Power Hour, but it wasn't as bad as the early vote and Power Hour for the "Married" option. During the night vote, "Yes, we're serious" performed better during the night vote compared to the "Married" option. "Yes, we're serious" had a slightly below average night vote and early morning vote. It was the later part of the morning vote that "Yes, we're serious" performed best in this poll. "Yes, we're serious" had an average ASV (19.47% during the ASV vs. final result of 19.46%). The SNV was the best time period for "Yes, we're serious". "Yes, not serious" had a slightly below average early vote and a bad Power Hour. The night vote was slightly below average. The early morning vote was bad. But during the later morning vote, it performed above average. The ASV was the best time period for "Yes, not serious" and even the SNV was above average as well. "No, better off without one" had an excellent early vote and good Power Hour and night vote. However, it collapsed during the morning vote and never recovered during the rest of the poll. The SNV was the worst time period for "No, better off without one". "No, I wish I had someone" had a very strong early vote and Power Hour. It had a pretty good night vote overall, but not as strong as its Power Hour. It collapsed during the early morning vote, which was slightly below average. The late morning vote and the SNV were the worst time periods for "No, I wish I had someone". It did perform better during the ASV, but even that was slightly better than the early morning vote. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |

Polls for the next several days: 2/16/2013 - I don't know. Probably an original poll idea. 2/17/2013 - Which system have you spent the most time playing in the last month? 2/18/2013 - How many hours out of the last 24 have you spent playing video games? 2/19/2013 - I don't know. But it is going to be Poll 5000, so it will be related to that. 2/20/2013 - Do you look at the results of the Poll of the Day before you vote? 2/21/2013 - How honestly do you answer the Poll of the Day? 2/22/2013 - What kind of Polls of the Day you most like to see on GameFAQs? 2/23/2013 - What's your favorite day of the week? 2/24/2013 - What's your favorite month of the year? --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |

Is the wii u tanking that bad right now? --- This space reserved for the next GameFAQs Contest! (NO! NO! NO!) NP: |
Wii
U is breaking records . In January it sold 55k units which has not
happened since 6-7 years ago., PS3 at its worst time sold 82k. In Japan
it is selling as bad as the Vita, 10-12K weekly. Even software sales are
terrible, it sold 15 millions only in software in January. Wii U
basically is a disaster right now. --- ... |

discussion of this amazing poll result? This makes me want a system

system contest would only be acceptable if we have 2 contests in the

Contest. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as SuperNiceDog, Guru Champ! |
very
impressive from PC. although a big reason for this is because we are at
the end of this gen's cycle and people are not playing PS3/360 a lot
while the wii/u is completely irrelevant. --- ... |

From: HaRRicH | #475 Consoles are also becoming poor PCs in some aspects. Nope, it hasn't. Not that I can find anyway. Well, other than something like this, which isn't quite the same kind of poll: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=919 --- http://i.imgur.com/M7vKB.gif |

am also very disappointed that it's taking so long to get another
