It's
not really made by 4chan. Some doujinshi artist in Japan came up with
the idea for it; his idea was then translated and posted on 4chan where
people were like "hey I'd actually play that". Eventually a group of
people got together and actually made it. It's sort of like saying that
[whatever game] was "made by GameFAQs" just because some of the people

wonder how far TWD can go in these polls. It's got to have the most
dedicated fanbase out of anything that gets into the final poll, might

wouldn't call it sneaking in. I'd say it's legitimately strong enough
of its own accord. And with the sales and acclaim it's gotten, why

If
ME3 doesn't impress in its RPG-poll, there are a few games waiting to
upset it. TWD's making its case now, and BL2/AC3 look ready to pounce
as well. Then again, it's got the most stacked poll to deal with, so
maybe just a clean RPG-win is enough to take GotY here. It's also worth remembering there may not be a final-GotY this year; last year broke the trend of having a final poll between the top three/four games from the overall-GotY. Granted, it wasn't close and SB was trying to not have an overload of polls last year, but 2012 is much more competitive and SB's restructured the polls again so we might see the return of the final-GotY. I suspect ME3 benefits the most if there is no final-GotY due to its divisive nature. was incredibly hyped. Remember how successful and popular MW1 was? when
COd wasn't hated so much. Now it's just too familiar and noone cares so
much. I mean they'll buy it and play it but won't really consider it
GOTY. IT's why COD hasn't won any meaningful GOTY awards at all since

Walking
Dead's getting 76.77% on Layton right now. To put it in perspective,
HG/SS got 85.03% on a Layton in 2010, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (f***
the idiots naming these games) got 79.76% on a Layton in 2009, and CTDS
got 79.57% on the first Layton in 2008. Of course, in those polls Layton wasn't the second strongest game in the poll. Diablo III is generally considered far inferior to Diablo II anyway.
Just go look at their placements in IGN's Top 100 RPGs list for an

The always online DRM is hurting Diablo III's reputation, but I don't think it's a significant factor in the performance we seeing today. I'd
really like to see more detailed numbers. 8.5 million could mean a lot
of things. Is buying each episode individually one unit each? Is buying a
bundle pack of all five counted as one? Still good to see it doing well. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

(so naturally LMS will hate it without playing it) All I was stating is that since it doesn't seem to be nearly as well received as Diablo II, Diablo III's bad performance in this poll should not mean any harm for Diablo II, unless people actually buy into the whole "a huge disappointment means harm for the entire series".
