I wasn't expecting "Best Fighting Game" this time around. I'm guessing
we won't be seeing Playstation All-Stars in the actual GotY poll
(8-way, 9-way, 10-way poll), because I expect only one game from this

Instead of having those 3 polls, they were combined into a "Best System Exclusive Game" poll. have a feeling we might get genre polls for Action, Adventure, and RPG
games as well. I think we'll still have a poll for system exclusive
games that includes all 4 major consoles that are currently active, plus
a poll for the 4 portable game systems that are currently active. 4 still has a chance to win "Best System Exclusive Game" since
Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3 won't be eligible for that poll. I'm

Looks
like Xenoblade gets thrown into the toughest poll right away. I still
think it can get top two, which will hopefully be good enough to move
on. Mass Effect 3 will win the RPG poll, but can any other RPG released

Ahahaha, and to think only several years ago CoD was GotY material (even if it was a rather weak year). GameFAQs has certainly managed to refine their tastes when it comes to western games. It also helps that western games have generally been blowing eastern games out of the water. Of course, I say that right after a poll where a Persona game won Best Fighting Game. Should be fun to see the rest of the polls. are plenty of good Adventure games this year. Definitely deserves a
category, and would fit both Journey and The Walking Dead. I also want

Persona
only won best fighting game because RPG fans voted for it. nobody here
really plays fighting games so hey why not vote for the RPG fighting

http://m.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=4841 Xenoblade did finish third here, but it's also the only non-Nintendo game and only RPG. There's room for the Wii's swansong to fall hard in a poll of RPGs, though I don't know what competition it faces besides ME3 (a lock for an RPG-poll) and FF13-2. If there's still a system-exclusive poll after these genre-polls though, it has a shot at advancing to the final poll; it could reasonably outdo Halo 4 today, for example. EDIT: what other competition would Xenoblade have in the system-exclusive poll if it beats Halo 4? Diablo 3 and Journey come to mind, but that's it (without counting portables).
