Two random questions: Would SOTC repeat its strong performance from GOTD in another Games Contest? I'd at least expect it to be way closer to that than its decent midcarder status from BGE2009. Is the MGS series on the downfall? I honestly would say yes, and I actually kinda feel that everything Metal Gear-related has to face anti-votes now (look, in our last character contest, Snake sucked until he ran into Final Fantasy characters, and in our last games contest, the MGS series disappointed without question). --- Currently Playing - StarCraft: Brood War |

I'm
sure a lot of people who don't have a preference in today's poll are
forced to go with "I don't like any of the Beatles", even if they like
the Beatles. The last poll option should have been replaced with "I
don't have a preference". It also means you can vote for " don't have a
preference" if you don't know anything about the band members or you

There
should be 6 options with these 5 + no preference. I bet if you had 6

Round 4 is up: http://konami.com/e3/battle/ The entire top 8 are Metal Gear characters. I got a perfect Round 3 which brings me into 3rd place. Unfortunately they never put up the percentages for Round 3. Hopefully they do that eventually. The match I'm worried about right now is Metal Gear Rex vs Sniper Wolf. If Sniper Wolf wins, I think I've got a good chance at first place. The Boss should be a safe pick over Vamp, right? --- We'll show her the power of a dream. |

would talk about how dumb it is that the final 8 is all MGS characters,
but then I realized how bad the bracket was aside from them. What were
they thinking with the CV reps-- why are they all from the most recent
game yet MGS is exempt from this. Shame Bomberman didn't do better

Doesn't
look like the Wii U will be launching with any game capable of
challenging for the GameFAQs' 2012 GOTY. Looks to be down to Mass Effect
3, Assassin's Creed III and Resident Evil 6, unless GTAV comes out this

Round 5 is up in the Konami contest: http://www.konami.com/e3/battle/ I end up getting totally hammered in Round 4. I missed 3 of the 4 matches since Rex beat Sniper Wolf, Raiden beat Ocelot and Naked Snake beat Solid Snake. I thought Solid Snake was far and away the most popular MGS character? How did he end up losing? I expected Naked Snake to be second and quite far down from Solid but I guess I only really know GameFAQs's MGS fanbase. Edit: And now that I look at the Round 5 matches, they aren't even the right matches. It's suppsed to be The Boss vs Metal Gear Rex and Big Boss vs Raiden. Right now it's The Boss vs Big Boss and Metal Gear Rex vs Raiden. The Boss vs Big Boss is supposed to be the R6 match. --- SuperNiceDog was not so nice to my bracket. So it's been exactly 2 years since the last known poll got over 100000 votes: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3934 That was on 6/7/2010. Since that poll, there have been 731 polls (including today's poll) that have all failed to get over 100000 votes. Snake barely won, so this isn't a surprising result. Big Boss is very
well loved by the MGS fanbase, which is why he keeps getting his own

think the percentages might have been different if Naked Snake was
listed as "Big Boss" instead. Because I know Solid Snake would have
SFFed Big Boss badly on this site. Now if Big Boss started being listed
as "Naked Snake" in our contests, he probably won't be SFFed quite as

You're overthinking it, Luster (Not that this is unusual). This is the MGS fanbase here. They know the difference between the two. This isn't GameFAQs. I would assume nearly everyone who voted in that match is an MGS fan already. Stop trying to reconcile results from another site with what would happen on GameFAQs. Well then, I'm probably guessing the percentages were fairly close, but we'll have to wait until we get percentages. SFF isn't a concept that exists only on GameFAQs. If two character who are close in strength are up against each other, usually there isn't much SFF (exceptions like Mario vs Samus exist, though).
