Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 1042
This
could end up being a better year for GotY polls, as Skyward Sword will
really have its back against the wall this time due to the increased
competition from Bacon's revised ideas for running this year's polls.
Skyrim will still beat Skyward Sword, but now we have another game that

Skyward
Sword losing to Skyrim would be a travesty. It actually deserves to
beat Skyrim while Link/Oot never deserve to win game/character

I'd
say it's pretty close. Uncharted 3 obviously stomps everything

epic Call of Duty/BF3 struggle here Batman getting Zelda's percentage on what seems like tougher competition. nothing here beats UC3, probably, but the poll is a lot deeper. wonder if Portal 2 and Skyrim share the same poll or if they can avoid each other. --- xyzzy |
They've
tied each other up again just there. Weird to think that a close match
between those two would have insane rallying going on if it was on a

I
expected dark Souls to be #2 much more comfortably. But maybe becaue
it's such a Polarized game(love it or hate it) it's a good showing.
Batman is just destroying though. No real surprises. People on here overrarted MW3 and BF3 like crazy. Both are very weak games. --- BRAVE VESPERIA! |

probably get three. tomorrow should be.. man I don't even know. DA2,
LA Noire, NBA/NHL/Madden, MK, MVC3 too. I hope Portal sneaks in so we
can see the big four (maybe five with Pokemon) go up against each other
with no good expectations. it's amazing how badly Ubisoft wrecked Assassin's Creed. two years ago, Asylum and AC2 were tied. of course, both lost to MW2. 2009 was weird. GOTY better than Rivalry Rumble already. I would be super curious to see a best game this generation in 2013. --- add the c and back away iphonesience |

is Dragon Age. Elder Scrolls has so many random characters that it's
kind of hard for any one to stand out. Because players can do whatever
they want to do, there are very few characters you can guarantee a

I've
put 100 hours into Skyrim and I don't know any of those characters you
guys are bringing up... though I didn't really advance the story. Games like this are tough to pinpoint specific characters. It's
not quite Game of the Decade/Generation, but I believe a recurring poll
like "What has been your favorite game of the past five years?" after
each GotY-series would work well. It could feature the past five
GotY-winners, then drop the oldest for the newest each year. For
example, last year would have looked like... 2006 - LoZ:TP 2007 - SMG 2008 - SSBB 2009 - CoD:MW2 2010 - ME2 (what a chance to look good!) ...then we'd drop LoZ:TP for 2011's winner later this month, then SMG for 2012's next year, SSBB for 2013's, and so on.
