A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

Link needs to either win in the most ridiculous fashion possible or somehow find a way to lose. This just isn't fun at all!

I wouldn't call a straight pick perfection! I would, however, put it closer to perfection that a stupid 62-62.99% gamble.

Link barely edges out 59/60, I fear. He needed to pull a reasonably strong performance, and he's not laying down the SFF killing I expected him to make.

Mario wins (relatively speaking) every block up to the morning vote, with the morning vote and dead zone being his strongest (against Link). Link wins everything after that point. I'm pretty sure that's how it usually goes anyway. Someone can tell me why I'm wrong it'll be interesting conversation.

In the 2010 Link/Mario match, Link gained another 2% after the end of the first hour. If that holds up, Link might only end up around 57%, with 58% being very unlikely.

Do you think Link's bad performance might spring from the low votals? With high votals, people just naturally flock to Link and he trumps everything. Now, with very little people interested in that contest, we are left with the few that are actually tired of seeing Link win all the time. Would that explain why Mario is rocking (relatively speaking, of course) the night vote so far?

Under that theory, Link might regain some colours during the morning vote, when the casuals/kiddies wake up (casuals being immune by the 'anti-LAW' syndrome).

I'm puzzled by the weird results that we have seen these last few days.
