match will explain who is to blame for the huge win by Link. If Cloud
struggles tomorrow, we'll probably blame Cloud for the huge win today.
If Cloud puts up a good performance (above 55%), we'll just blame it on

this isn't OoT vs FFVII guys this is the entire Zelda series vs FFVII OoT and the entire series are probably both roughly equal, tbqh. Edit: I'm not sure where this matter of factness about FFVII freefalling comes from. RPGS boosted a lot in popularity in the past year, and FFVII's playrate has been falling off at a lower rate than OoT's. think Cloud/Sephiroth win fairly easily tomorrow. Trainers winning
tomorrow means Mario should do really well on Link/Ganondorf, and I

What
would Red/Blue currently need to get on Cloud/Seph to project
Mario/Bowser beating Link/Ganon? ~54% without trying to account for any

This
match will end up falling short of Trainers/Fighters and Cloud/Snake
for highest drawing of the contest. Considering it's the semifinals and
it's Link/Cloud (which historically outdraws anything else by a hop,
skip, and a leap), that's disappointing. We will all but certainly go
the length of the contest without drawing 59,000 votes in a match. The thing is, site traffic has actually up-ticked in the past month, so these stagnating votals speak more toward everyone's complete apathy for this contest than anything else. From: LeonhartFour | #461 Well, it was disappointing compared to less than a year earlier, when the OoT/FFVII bonus match drew 155k. Heck, the Link/Link/Link/Link bonus match from 2008 drew 152k! We have fallen, no doubt about that, but I think a better contest could have helped us at least maintain vote levels from our least popular contests, like Games 2004. This one has set the bar really, really, really low. think we will get a post-contest opinion poll since we will have 4 days
of non-contest polls before we have our Christmas day poll. One of
those polls should be "'Twas the night before Christmas, and what are
you doing?", which leaves 3 other days for other poll ideas. I'd also
like to get a pre-GotY opinion poll, to get a read on Skyrim and Skyward

If you'll recall back during the first Best Game Ever tournament there was a poll between Pokemon GSC and Xenogears where only registered users were allowed to vote. Then the poll was redone with everyone allowed to vote and Xenogears won by significantly more than it had the first time. That would imply that the core of the site is more Nintendo friendly, while the casuals just visiting are more Square fans. Back then anyway. --- Black Turtle and Zelda always win! |

Match LXIII: (1) Pokemon Trainer Red/Pokemon Trainer Blue vs. (1) Cloud Strife/Sephiroth Previous Round Mario/Bowser – 55.61% Pokemon Trainer Red/Pokemon Trainer Blue – 44.39% Link/Ganondorf – 58.30% Cloud/Sephiroth – 41.70% Analysis As an early bonus match and to battle brackets enough time to make their selection SBAllen is giving us a preview of a third place match and considering that the final will likely have SFF this one will help us prepare our adjusted stats. Overall this match means nothing, but given the trends of these two pairs we could see some interesting vote swings. There was some debate on whether the trainers could pull off the upset given how badly Cloud and Sephiroth lost to Link and Ganondorf, especially during the early part of the match. While the trainers could take the lead at the beginning I seriously doubt they would be able to hold on to the lead once the night vote fully kicked in. I feel Link and Ganondorf really are that powerful rather than Cloud and Sephiroth’s weakness. For the trainers to be able to pull off the upset that would place Mario and Bowser dangerously close to Link and Ganondorf and as much as I would love seeing that happen it probably won’t happen.
