The best part about this round is that it tells us absolutely nothing about next round. Mario vs. X? SFF. Trainers vs. Samus? Either Samus gets SFFed to hell or she carries Ridley to a strong percent in defeat, with both being perfectly reasonable while still telling nobody anything about Trainers/Mario. Alternatively Samus somehow drags Ridley's useless corpse to a win and we have "If only Bosses had been where Yuna/Seymour were we could have seen Bosses winning that division AND a comedy Tidus/Jecht vs. Yuna/Seymour match." Pokemon/Mario.....the SFF effect is even, mario just happens to have

Samus
is way stronger than Samus/Ridley, which is more like the Metroid
series itself. Given that Pokemon barely lost to Metroid years back and
since then Pokemania has taken over, Trainers should win very safely. If
Samus/Ridley had looked like Samus alone this contest, we'd be hyping
Trainers vs. Samus/Ridley as a potential amazing match instead of a

Red/Blue would probably double any MEtroid game wouldn't they? or at least 60/40- Prime/Super. In fact Metroid being that popular is impressive to begin with considering that only 2 games are have legit strength. Prime only looked good last Contest too. Samus gets an enourmous amount of strength from the Smash games. Obviously Pokemon would easily beat Metroid now. Pokemon really changed in 2007 for whatever reason. I predicted Pikachu exploding that year based on the Metroid/Pokemon match, which really impressed me. My theory at the time was that as the site got older, the nostalgia for Pikachu would overcome the hate from the cartoon. I just never thought it would apply to the entire series like it did. I figured Pikachu in 2007 was Pokemon's cap. I'd absolutely take Pokemon over Metroid in a rematch, and the more I think about it, the less comfortable I am that Samus beats the Trainers. --- Game of the Decade? 2007 is when Diamond and Pearl came out, so I think that has a lot to do with it. |

After seeing D/P in the last game contest I can't say it helped at all. It was just a gradual decline in hate, and given that we saw nothing Pokemon related in 2005 or 2006 (aside from Pokemon/Metroid which was hard to get a read on), I can say with confidence that if Pikachu was in both of those CB's you would see a gradual increase. --- Game of the Decade? with your newfound buddies and talking about things that were popular
when you were a kid is cool. I'd guess that the combination of those

really REALLY want a fictional Contest or a Character battle with non
exclusive game characters involved. Would make the contests so much
