A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

If vgchartz is to be believed and I haven't forgotten any prominent JRPGS to look up, Golden Sun is the second best selling JRPG in the U.S. that didn't have the words "Final Fantasy," "Kingdom Hearts," "Mario," or "Pokemon" in the title.

Legend of Dragoon is #1, which also explains that game doing fairly well in GotD. Golden Sun stood out a lot more on its system though due to less competition.

LoD and Golden Sun both outsold Chrono Trigger, SNES and DS versions combined? I'm actually kinda surprised. Chrono Trigger was a big freaking deal to RPG enthusiasts back in the day.

Then again there were a ton more RPG enthusiasts in 2001 than there were in 1995, so maybe that's it.

(I can't count the PS1 version since it was sold as 1/2 of "Final Fantasy Chronicles" which disqualifies it based on the criteria <_<)

Chrono Trigger was a big deal, but it didn't have big sales.

Wikipedia says it was the 3rd best-selling game across all platforms for 1995!

I dunno the US/Other breakdown though.

Diluted ASV indeed. Ryu and Ken will finish only 0.4% lower than their highest pre-ASV percentage. In this case, however, I'm sure that's partly because Pokemon started off so high.

It was still a decent jump up from what they had been averaging previously, but yeah, being so ridiculously frontloaded prevented them from going up so much.

I know the ASV has been very weak lately, but the California ASV also hurt the Trainers a bit by slowing them down in the ASV. And of course, they were very frontloaded at the start of the match.

Samus needs Terra/Kefka to be stronger than Ryu/Ken.

And hope rSFF doesn't exist.

God I can't stand the tension
This reminds me of this time I was stuck between two horses to bet on in the grand national, and I picked one over the other. Mine fell at like the first fence so I spent the rest of the race praying the other one wouldn't win. (it didn't, phew)

I would be surprised as hell if Boss had a chance.

Then again, I banked on the Tidus match and bet everything on Resident Evil, so I'm not very good at gauging Boss's strength!

I'm glad you didn't. Testicular bets are bets that should be done sparingly. You can't be doing them in consecutive days.
